Hi guys

Hope everyone's ok???

Well...what I have been hoping for has finally arrived...my first 'real' client!!! And I am absolutely terrified lol...

The lady coming in to see me on Sunday is a rebalance of another tech's acrylics. I have read another recent thread on this subject - I really hope I do a good job! She does have one nail that needs soaking off and a new tip putting on. Would I be best to do the whole rebalance on her right hand whilst her left hand finger is soaking, and then do her left hand?

Any other advice or tips much appreciated!

Hi,
Great news on your first client! I wouldn't work on her current enhancements, I would advise a soak off and new set. How would you know she hasn't any problems underneath? What if the other tech has damaged nails ect? If the client was to experiance any problems you wouldn't know if it were hers or your fault! Good luck:)

Well, the first thing I'd do would be to buff the nail that needs soaking off, then use the foil method for soaking off that 1 finger ( soak a cotton pad in acetone/product remover, place on nail, wrap with tin foil just around the nail area).
That way you can then start on the prep & filing etc for your rebalance - once you've done your prep/filing on the other nails, you can check on the progress of the nail you are soaking. If it's ready, you can scrape it off, if not, wrap it again & carry on with your rebalance & keep checking on it.
I usually find that by the time I've got one hand filling out the way, the nail will be ready to remove.

I'm assuming that all her nails are in an ok condition & you can just work over the other tech's work.
Don't forget to tell her that she may notice a slight colour difference, however, if you are rebalancing, you will be filling away a good bit of the old product, so there may not be any difference once you have applied your products.

Well done on your first client, I have my first next week - so scared!!! My client wants a new set so is soaking hers off before I get there. If you are going to rebalance the set she already has I would file down the one she wants soaked of, put the remover on it with foil, then you can get to work on the rest.

I'm new to this so not much help - but just wanted to wish you luck!!
