But i have about a million questions before i do! Basically i'm 20 and after lots of umming and ahhing, 4 years to be precise, decided to follow my heart and do what i really want to do!

I'm thinking of applying for NVQ2 with the view of setting up business on my own when i'm done. Is NVQ3 therefore really necessary? In looking at it,although i understand the more experience the better,it seems to be treatments i personally probably wouldn't end up offering.

Having said that can you take level 3 type courses individually in say spray tanning for example?

Also if i don't do level 3 would i eventually be able to train with brands such as CND and Fakebake so i can offer their products to clients?

I'm giving up a huge amount to do this so i just want to make sure i'm doing the right thing!

Thanks
xx

I've only got an NVQ 2, I work for myself. I've trained with Bio Sculpture and Fake Bake. I'm currently doing Swedish Body Massage at evening class as that's the only level 3 service I wanted to offer.
So in answer to your question then yes you can train with specific brands if your not level 3 qualified. It is best to check with each brand though as each have different entry requirements.

Thank you shelly :)

gosh we sound so alike! haha i've been just like you have going over wheather to start or to leave it or to do private individual courses ugh it's so hard trying to make the right choice especially when there is alot of time and money to be potentially wasted. x

Hi,
i started my level 2 at the same age as you and have set up on my own since completing my qualifications, I chose to take NVQ 3 general route as i just wanted to have that extra bit of knowledge and confidence before starting out on my own, i origionally thought i wouldnt be offering any of treatments when i finished but apart from electrolysis i offer most.
As you say though you can do individual courses in the treatments you want to train in if you dont want to take an extra year out
