Hi salon geeks

Need a little advice please, i am a new qualified mobile nail technician passed in april this year.

When doing acrylic on nails in zone 3 i do manage to get it quite thin but struggle with how close/far you go to the cuticle. I have looked at pictures of acrylic nails and sometimes think that the acrylic is to far away for the cuticle so i try to go closer but then end up going to close and catch the cuticle which then leads to lifting.

What is the ideal gap that has to be left between the cuticle and the acrylic, if anyone has any pictures that i could look at to see how close other technicians go that would be a great help.

Any advie would be gratefully received.

Thanks you:confused:

Hi Hun,
I know it is very difficult, I try to leave 1mm.
Take a look at your notes from training there should be something in there on product application.
Best of luck.

If you do nails correctly you shouldn't be able to see any gap.

Leave a mm or less, but enough to be able to integrate the product naturally into the natural nail when finishing so that no 'seam' or ledge is visible.

Take a look through the gallery on here hun,
or people have albums on there profiles that you can look at,
look at the pics from the techs that have quite a bit of experience behind them and you will find some great examples, hth
