I am new to this site and i am a newly qualified nail technician running my own mobile business. I am having problems with acrylic nails, i seem to be getting worse rather thatn better and it disappoints me i do a set and they are not as good as i like them to be. I struggle getting the acrylic on smooth and even and end up doing loads of filing after which seems to take me hours . Also struggle getting the acrylic on around the cuticle without it running onto the skin. I use the method where you apply the acrylic in zone 1 then zone 2 and finish in zone 3 around the cuticle. I have tried doing zone 1 first then zone 3 and then finishing in zone 2 and have found this a little easier, is this wrong. Can any one give any advice on how they apply it and in what order as i am getting really dis-heartend when i am not doing a good job. Thank you

I think the answer to your questionis that you are newly 'qualified' which means you have a long long way to go before you master your application. It only makes you disheartened to expect too much too soon.

Technique is everything and I suggest you get a copy of 'nailclass' by gigirouse which will be like have a teacher at your side. Indeed it is having a teacher at your side. available by ringing Sweet Squared on 08452106060 it is affordable and if you search it here on the site, you can read what hundreds of techs say about how it has helped them.

You have to develop a method and use long smooth strokes if you want a perfect surface. All is explained perfectly in the book. You can also log on to www.cnd.com and join the site as a professional and you can view all the fantastic videos of application techniques. It doesn't matter if you use a different product .... application is the same.

Zone 1-2-3 is normal and makes perfect sense. Some do 3-2 and then 1 (known as the reverse method). You could also book some skill building classes to help you .... CND offer these and they really are very effective at helping with your personal problem areas.

:lol:Thank you for your advice, i will do some research on that book and have a look at the cnd website.
