Hi,I feel that Im just going to be wasting my time, but one of my clients who was wearing MMA nails, recently soaked it off to reveal damaged nails,I applied an overlay of Bio Sculpture to her nails last time I see her ,shes phoned to say it hasnt stayed on and she wants some tips put on with acrylic:rolleyes:,Ive explained to her the acrylic may not adhere to the damaged nails, but she said she hates having no nails and wants the extensions put on ,do you think Ill be completly wasting my time or is there a slight chance it could stay on?

Please dont shout at me if I shouldnt of agreed to do it.

Bio is great for not lifting (even on not so great nails) so I am surprised that it "came off"....The change over from MMA to Bio would have been very noticeable to her as one is rock hard and the other very flexible....I am guessing that she helped the Bio off cos she didn't like the difference and cos she wants tips again.

All you can do is try...tell her that due to the damage there are no guarantees and to ring you with any problems and not be tempted to pick at anything.

I agree with Angie.

Warn her that she may have problems with breakages etc FOR WHICH YOU WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE and will not repair free of charge if they occur. But that you will be happy to help her nurture her nails back to health and you want to see her every 2 weeks.

Great thanks both thats what I wanted to hear,I was worried you were going to shout.DONT GO THERE.:lol:I did tell her over the phone they may not adhere.

I hope this is not a stupid question but is a tip more likely to stay put than a sculpt and would it make a difference if I done a square finish rather than the oval shape she normally has?

No and No

Keep whatever you do short for the moment and for this I think a natural rounded square woud be better until they grow out as short oval nails look pants.

Great thanks exactly what I had in mind to do,its just shes always had them long & oval,so Im just going to have to persuade her to have them different for the moment, for her own good ah.

As a matter of interest just so Im prepaired ,if she cant keep them on ,and she asks, whats the next step I can do to help her nails heal up,should I just leave her to keep putting cuticle oil on herself,or is a heated mitt manicure recommended with oil,and also how often?

solar oil as often as she thinks of it ;)

Well Ive just texted her to see if shes still got her nails on as shes due for infills Saturday ,and she says shes lost two,.....I was really hoping she had kept them all on ,do you think this is good going though as her nails were damaged when I put the acrylic on.

I don't really understand why this is upsetting. She is an ex-NSS client with damaged nails, she still has eight out of ten. I would see that as positive. Just do her rebalance, shorten them & explain to her that they need to stay short until the damage grows out.
