hi y, all
can anyone tell me when they doing acrylic overlays their procedure as beginning to doubt mine! (im using to much - i was taught the 3 blob method, small in z1, med/l in z2, then small around cuticle, i have found that they are gettting to built up on rebalance ect,
your bead application and maintenance procedure please, your help is appreciated as always.
i got into nails years ago and have returned to them the past 6 months so just want to do a good jobxxx

I was taught the reverse method, so I start with my pink first, it depends on the size of their nail bed, if not too large, I use one bead, roughly about half the size of the nail bed, place around centre, nearer to cuticle, push into position around cuticle, and product has started to move in direction of smile line by this point, I move product into place, to make my smile line, ( if large nail bed I use 2 beads, first one nearer free edge and make smile line, second around cuticle and pull over product already on ) the my white goes on, with the reverse it doesnt matter if your white goes over the pink, as when you file, your smile line is there, as long as you make sure the white is pushed up against the pink, there are tutorials of this method on the young nails website, heres a wee link if you fancy having a look Young Nails
I think this one is from their facebook page, there are lots of tutorials on there, hth ruth x

thanks for that, yes remember trying that reverse method with scultping, this client i have coming tonight she only wants natural overlay as she has them painted any advise on that or anyone elsexx

if they are getting too built up on rebalance, you are either not removing enough old product or you are putting on too much new product.

only replace what you have removed...and only remove what needs to be replaced....

If you find the 3 bead method too much then just judge how many beads you need to cover the nail. As we all know there are so many different sizes of nail and shapes. On some I will only use one bead and on others 2. I don't very often use the 3 bead method, even on pink and whites. Experiment a bit, you may find that this is one of the reasons there is too much build up if you are only needing 2 beads in the first place. You shouldn't really have to take too much product off the nail at rebalance or infills, it is generally putting too much product on in the first place that causes this. :)
