Hi everyone,

not a nail tech but require some advice about my nails. A good few months ago I developed Onycholysis on a couple of my nails due to trauma from poorly applied gels & removal. Anyway... I’ve been months without any gels, kept them short, clean and trimmed most of the lifted nail off as my nails tend to grow quickly. I still have little corners on my thumb and one pinky but it’s minimal. Would you advise that acrylic nails can be applied on top of this now or should I wait until it’s completely gone? Hate seeing my nails bare 🙈🙈.

After all that time and patience you'd be better to wait until completely grown out. The weight of the product can cause the issues to start again, particularly if you go to a tech who uses incorrect techniques and it would be a shame to get 90% of the way there just to ruin it at the last hurdle. You can use normal polish of course in the meantime.
