Hi does anyone know the company that makes that glitter that you can put in to any powder and make it glittery for example do normal creative powder with a tiny bit of glitter to make it sparkely with out having to buy all the glittery powders:eek::green:

Thanks angie thats the one:)

Try Distinctive nail products they sell young nails products that have a range of glitters that can be added to any clear powder and monomer system. The range has around 40 colours x

Have you tried nsi glitter its 2 parts powder to 1 part addative (glitter) I have used it its great:)

I am using any kind of glitter I can get my hands on, even the ones that are supposed to be used for make up! They are not really any different... And you can mix different types and colors of glitters and make it even more interesting!

I also use glitter from any source ... just got 10 colours from my local craft store for a mere 5€. There is nothing that I know of that is 'majic' about the glitter from a nail supplier.

Thank you thts great!!! Will be going to the craft shop tomorrow and buying myself some sparkly glitters do i just mix a tiny amount with the creative powder!! :lol:

You can do that or you can make a bead and dip into the glitter with the wet bead and then apply. Now glitter used in this way can 'dull' when filed, so it is good to keep your glitter application thin and then add a fine layer of clear over the top so that when finishing you do not file into the glitter and dull it.

i have found before that the cheapy craft shop glitters bleed, whereas nail graphix dont
i know which ones id go for,

Have I been lucky then?? I've never had that experience thank goodness.

I have bought the speacialst nail glitters and the cheapo asda ones (too chunky for me) & craft store stuff.
The first thing I do is a practise tip (small amounts), to ensure that the glitter does not bleed (as Lotus Blossom said).
If it's ok, then I mix 60/40 pink powder/glitter pot for long term use, then ensure I cap with clear.

It's always best IMO, when using a glitter to ensure you find a fine one, not a chunky one, because if you file it away a bit, it can end up taking the colour out.

CND metro powders have some uber fien glitter powders that don't need capping and you can produce gorgeous results, the only problem is they don't have lots of colour choices.

i have purchased cheapy glitters before, and when i went to go back in the monomer, the colour bled from my brush, all over couch roll etc:eek:
then the colour of the glitter spread into the glitter and made the glitter non glittery etc etc
i would always now go with a reputable gliiter supplier for nails than craft shop,
too much hassle if you ask me to wonder if it will be ok
jmho:hug:

Hope this may help;

I have been using glitters of all descriptions for years including for mixing with l+p.

the best glitters to use IMO are polyester based, these are the glitters that are also suitable for skin aplication.{recomended by the London Collage of Fashion}

These tend not to bleed as they are designed for use with multiple adhesives and chemicals.

A great indication is to stick with embossing or scrapbooking stuff, or look for anything acid free!

A great new range has come out by "do craft" they have loads of colors and do standard, glitter dust and strand glitter it is GR8 x

I have used a few glitters from various outlets and I must say that I absolutely love Nail Graphix glitters. The glitters are so fine, come in the most amazing colours and the end result is so much better than when I use cheaper glitters.

I also like the look of the Ezflow glitters and the results they produce, although I haven't tried them yet.

I think it is a case of you get what you pay for in this instance too!
