Hi all I'm now looking at doing beauty full time so I need to do some advertising. I am going to put an advert in our local news paper, but was just wondering what sort of advertising you lot may have done in the past and how it wworked for you. thank you in advance. Holl x x x

Local newspaper is great, also make some leaflets up and drop them into
the local shops for the staff rooms, hairdressers, dr surgerys, supermarkets,
gyms and through peoples doors. hth

Hi hun, take a look in the new biz forum, there is loads of usefull info. Oh and check out Sassy Hassy's guide to advertising hth's and good luck x

word of mouth i the best form - but you do need a few clients to start with for that to happen.

leaflets, fliers, newpaper/magazine/yellow pages ads? read sassys article it is fab xx

Yellow Pages and Thompson - brilliant.
Leaflet drops - not bad (average 1% take up rate) made my legs ache
Personal column in local paper - only a limited response
Ad at our local Recreation Centre (decent size one, too) - NOT ONE RESPONSE IN A YEAR!
WOM - best once you have some clients to start you off. (specially if you offer a discount).
hth Good luck hun xx
