Afraid I'm not a professional or in the business. I was recommended to a 'professional' waxer (on the insistance of my wife) and had the dreaded male intimate wax 2 weeks ago. To be honest I didn't find it as painful as i thought it would be - but am now suffering the consequences. I am still very sore - red raw still in places and I don't know how to treat this. My wife gave me a moisturiser but it seems to make things worse. Any help will be much appreciated. This might seem ironic but I'm uncomfortable about going to the doctor as she is a 60+ lady.
When I describe myself as sore, I was bleeding a lot after the treatment and the skin appears to have layers taken off. It is still so obviously red and painful that I'm having trouble even sleeping comfortably and wearinfg fitted clothing. Even though it was my first time I have to presume this isn't normal. I don't think I'll be coming back for more.
Any treatment advice?

I'm afraid this is definitely not normal. What to suggest? Aloe vera maybe? Although that could sting. The skin will heal itself in time. I would let the air get to it as much as possible, but I realise this may be difficult!

It sounds like you had some skin lift off, which shouldn't really happen. Did the therapist use strips to remove the wax, i.e. paper or fabric? Do you remember if the therapist applied oil before the wax?

I am slightly alarmed that it has been 2 weeks.... I do actually think you should go to the docs. She will have seen it all and much worse.... all you did was get waxed, which is very fashionable for guys these days. It's not like you're going to have the vacuum cleaner nozzle removed from your rectum

If your skin is still painful and red after 2 weeks then you NEED to go to the doctors.
It sounds like layers of skin were taken off but it could be a burn or anything. Without seeing it it's difficult to tell.
To be in such discomfort after 2 weeks is something i'd be very concerned about and suggest you book an appointment. You could have an infection or anything.
Not meaning to scare you but it really is best to get it checked out.

If it's as bad as you say, then definitely get a doctor's opinion, as I'd be inclined to sue the therapist who waxed you if the trauma to your skin is as bad as you say... there's a good chance you'd be able to claim against her insurance (assuming she's insured)...

Yeah you could maybe try sudocream as it is an anticeptic and used for burns/scrapes/rash. If it looks infected then go straight to the doctor.
If it is only red bumps as opposed to red areas then maybe its ingrown hairs and an ingrown hair lotion should be used everyday.

It should definitely not be sore after two weeks in the way you describe

You shouldn't feel sore at all afterwards......even before you leave the waxing room.

It's very unusual so I'm guessing you were waxed by someone inexperienced and without specific training and with strip wax.......or of course you may have a skin condition that has flared up as a result of waxing (doubtful). You should go to see your doc. Hope you feel ok soon. x
