Just after some opinions and advice please

I am going to be renting a room in a salon in the lovely village that I live in, and it is above Tony and Guy Hairdressers so seems a good location.

The owner has said I can now start whenever I like and I have put it on some free advert sites and facebook and I am in the process of getting some leaflets made telling people about all the treatments and products I offer and prices etc to go in the salon for current clients and also some money off vouchers for all Toni and Guy clients too. There is also a charity night on Dec 1st where I am doing mini manicures at Toni and Guy.

But I have No actual bookings yet!!!

Sooo my question is...should I wait til I have some people booked in before I actually start ( as I will need to pay rent upfront) or shoudl I bite the bullet and get started now so I can get into the salon and promote myself and go and do free stuff in the hairdressers and see if that picks up bookings???

What do you think???

I personally would have a date in mind to open up, and stick to it, regardless of if you have any clients booked in or not. Put this info on your flyers and also put opening times on, so any potential clients know when you will be available. Even if you have no clients booked in, stay in your salon as you will probably find that you will get walk in clients from the hairdressers. Nothing worse than when you want to get your brows done and theres no-one there!

Its perfect timing to have an open evening on 1st December, take along your appointment book and offer 10% off any treatments booked that night. Take your treatment menus so clients know what to book.

Good luck and enjoy!
