Hi Guys

I am totally new to this site & the industry. I am currently looking into spray tanning training with the view to start up my own spray tanning mobile business. I have looked at various company websites that offer the training along with start up kits. I have two I like the sound of and seem the best value for money and they are tantrick and nouvatan. Tantrick will give me 121 training for £125 and have the option of training at home which I really like the sound of. They also do a complete mini intro starter kit for £249. I have spoken to a lady from nouvatan and she has given me a quote of £454 which will include 121 training and starter kit too which is more expensive than tantrick. I am unsure on what provider to go with. Has any of you been with Tantrick and brought there mini starter kit? If so is it any good? Any advice will be much appreciated!

Thanks

Sarah

From what I've heard, the quality of the Nouvatan equipment is first class; some companies do offer cheaper alternatives, but I've heard that the quality and reliability of some of the cheaper alternatives is questionable.

Also, Nouvatan are based just down the road from you (in Quinton), and Dawn and Steve (who run Nouvatan) are both lovely. If you ask them nicely, you could probably save on postage too as they may let you pick up the kit personally rather than having it sent to you by courier, which should save a few bob...

hi ya,
i use tantrick tan and find the company really professional and helpful. Training was really good and also all promotional leaflets are free of charge when you order so if you are going mobile this will save you alot of money.

Hi Sarah,
just as a heads up its not allowed to post prices on the boards

The machine that comes with the starter kit is very reliable little machine and made by the same company that makes the larger HV5008 machine.
Its ideal for start up and will last a good few years.

It however isn't really suitable for spray tan parties (the HV5008 machine will cope easily with these jobs)but other than that's it is a great machine and even has the same gun as the HV5008 machine has.

HTH and good luck

Have just had a look at both sites, with no connection to any of the companies quoted I would say the Nouvatan kit is a better option.

My reasoning is that the Tantrick kit has a very basic entry level machine which you would probably want to replace once proficient at tanning.

The machine from Nouvatan whilst not top of the range will give you a more robust machine capable of higher volume tanning.

yeh as collin has said the start up or home kit tantrick offer is not the same machine we offer in our kit but he does sell the same machine as the one in
our kit the full size maximist 5008 we dont stock any other machine as we trust this one,
Our prices were inclusive of vat not pre vat
were both good companies who offer great customer support,
we have a good banter and healthy competition between our selves :hug: most of the time lol :lol:

Hi guys

Thank you all very much for getting back to me looks like Nouvatan is probably the one to go for...
Will look into getting the training booked after I come off my holidays easter :)
Im new to all of this so your advice is greatly appreciated

Awww, can't you just feel the lurve nowadays....:wink2:

The best advice I can give you is to say that both companies are reputable suppliers with pretty much the same equipment and excellent training reputations, so you are comparing like for like on the machines. I'm sure they both provide entry level and more robust machines at more or less identical costs.

IMO the best way for you to make a decison would be to go and treat yourself to a tan from each of the suppliers....seeing as the relevant gentlemen are in this thread, I'm sure they can provide names of local therapists to you, and see what solution you prefer for yourself.

LOL life's far to short for bickering and really no need for it in the first place

Us guy's very really will fight....that said with the exception of course of fighting over...well....you ladies...must be a built in primeval thingy
:eek::lol::hug:

I don't think you can really make a comparison on the 2 regarding prices as that's 2 different machines you're comparing.

As has aldredy been said Tantrick also sell the HV5008 and you can build the kit to contain whatever you want.

I think they will probably be around the same price. Both very reputable companies. I think it will boil down to who you like the "feel" of better.

we dont actually sell an entry level budget machine and that was down to me personally :irked: the maximist mini is a good little piece of kit and does a great job if rested for 10 mins in between tans,I made the decision not to stock it because although it could do 3 tans maybe in a row the heat generated from it gave me the impression it wouldnt last very long
And if i sold it to someone who Maybe abuses it and its inevitable That some people will do the odds on this machine keep coming back were stacked against us, as we always offer a no quibble exchange with 24 hour delivery and collection, that we pay for,
it can cost £11 each way so thats x4 the original delivery the new delivery the collection then we send it to the manufacturer who just replaces it !!! and adds one to the next order
so i said no to stocking the cheap lite machines it does lose us a few sales as they are both called maximist and those who dont do there homework think there getting a great deal when they buy a (maximist!!)
but i dont lose any sleep worrying if the machine ive sold has broken mid tan :lol:
we did start calling our 5008 the sungun to get away from the maximist confusion but then it caused the problem of people thinking we dont stock the 5008
boring name 5008 but fantastic machine dawn done 12 tans on saturday back to back with our demo one and its got to be getting on for 2 years old now and still never missed a beat

I am also thinking about training in sptay tanning and these 2 companies are top of my list. More people tended to shout about Tantrick a couple of years ago and now more people shout about Nouvatan.

My only worry about using the Nouvatan is that there isn't as much choice. For instance my mom only ever has a light 5% tan which I wouldn't be able to offer if I chose to go with that one company only.

They (Nouvatan) currently offer 5 different solutions - 8%, 10%, 12%, 14% and 16% - which should cover most requirements... if you really need a 5% solution then maybe you could have a word with Dawn or Steve at Nouvatan to see if this is something they may consider offering in the future; otherwise one solution is to do what some spray tan therapists (e.g. Carol at SunSpray, SunSpray Mobile Spray Tanning - Stoke Poges (near Slough) - covering South Buckinghamshire & East Berkshire - Welcome) do - which is to offer more than one solution - e.g. she offers the 5% Tantrick, and then darker solutions from other companies... so you could go with Nouvatan for the bulk of your solutions, but then choose a different company for the 5%...

hiya i trained with suntana but i do believe they are not currently setting any dates in the near futre but thier solution and equipment is at a competetive price and a product i would highly reccomend you looking at them as a possible supplier for you. good luck with the new busines!!!! xx:biggrin:

We do 8% 10% 12% 14% 16%, tan in a can, and the new tanning mouse,we have a good range in my opinion and we have never been asked for anything less than an 8 but if were asked regularly for a weaker solution i would get the lab to make some up,we used to only go up to 14% but customers asked for the 16% so we added it to the range

Hi Sarah,

I went through the same thing a couple of weeks ago. I did my research - asked a few questions on here (thanks again geeks) and made my decision to go with Nouvatan.
And.... I am so glad I did. I was trained at home last week by Gina who was fab and Dawn is lovely and helpful and I know I have help on hand a phonecall away.I have been practising on friends and they love it and have got referrals coming in all ready.:D
The tan shades are lovely and natural even on my lovely milky white friends (sorry girls you were:p) If I were you I wouldn't hesitate to go with Nouvatan - you won't regret it. I love it  and I wanna tan the nation...

Thanks for the responses to my input, maybe I should get my mom to try the 8% and see if she likes it. Do you all use the 8% on very fair skinned people, such as redheads for example?
