:eek:HI, I am starting up a new salon and need to decide which products to use. I have used a couple of different uv gels, and I am not overly impressed so far.:irked:

Can anyone give me their opinion of the best uv gels out there for salon use? I currently get my tips from essential nails which are very good but expensive anyone have a good supplier for strong nail tips too?

:hug:I appreicate your help, advice and support guys xx

Try doing a search on here of previous threads on this subject.

It's a hard one though as everyone will feel strongly about the brand they use themselves, If I were you I would try a few yourself and see which one suits you.

Who did you do your training with?

Are you looking for soak off/Buff off?

Sorry not been much help so far lol.

Natalie xx

Products may be expensive to buy when starting up ... what isn't when you are buying it all at once to set up a business, but over all your nail service should cost roughly 13% of your service price. The difference between the service cost price of a set of the worst products and the best products is not so very different. So go for the best which is the products that do the job, look the most beautiful and last the longest for your clients.

Clients are not impressed with products that do not stand the test of time and as a technician neither am I. I want my bread and butter clients to stay loyal and come back to me relatively problem free which in the main they do. Clients who experience problems soon search out another technician.

I always say the worst thing anyone can do is start out on the cheap and underfunded. Get the best core products you can and add the frills as you go on unless you can do it all at once.

Contact Sweet Squared .. the home of CND (Creative Nail Design) to experience what in my opinion are the best and longest lasting and most beautiful products there are. 0845 210 6060 or Welcome - Sweet Squared

You will not be able to buy on line until you ring them first and set up an account and present your credentials as a trained technician. Once done by phone, the rest is easy. Speak to one of the lovely girls in the customer care dept and they will guide you along your way. Good luck with your salon.

Strength of tips is not the characteristic to look for. The strength of an enhanced nail is in the overlay, its structure and bond with the nail plate.

When looking for tips obviously price should come into it but more importantly look for:
-range of c curves (ideally you should carry 2-3 so every nail shape is covered)
-good quality ABS plastic that blends quickly
-good, natural colour (french white is another story)

I personally don't care about the size of the well as I take it out anyway.
