I had a client 2 days ago, yes 2 days !!!!
And I wasn't happy with her nails at all after I had finished.
So much so, that I offered to guarantee them for her for 5 days, and repair any breakages for free, if these happened during the 5 days.

Now I talked her through custom blends etc...and gave her my recommendations, but she decided to go ahead with the sculpts she had booked in for originally, (as they worked out cheaper)

Now I knew from the word go, they were going to turn out awful.
they did, they were....well sculpted nail biter nails lol,
i had to keep them quite thin, as tbh an apex would have made the nails look thick and bulky,
also there was some lifting in some of the sidewall's at zone 3 as I was refining at the end,
I removed the lift, it was only a tiny bit, but was on a few nails,

Now she is coming tonight for me to repair the thumb nail she has broken off (the whole nail)
Should I try to insist that I try a different method of application on her ?
I am feeling that a natural tip with a pink and white overlay will suit her much better than sculpts.

and I have a feeling this one is going to have plenty more breakages in the next few day's

She is not keen on tips due to some she has had previously,
she had also recently had fibreglass enhancements she absolutely hated, also reinforcing her dislike of tips,
But I really do think it will be the best option for her.

What are your thoughts peeps ?
And I'm stuck with words as to how to explain that I think in this case tip and overlay will be the best option, reassuring her after her last experience with them,

were her past experiences with some other tech Emms?
I know you like a challenge and do some super work with biters from what I've seen on here.

Yes hun, they were,
This was her first visit to me the other day,
She was recomended to me, from another nail biter I see,
The lady who's pictures I always post following her progress,

The thing with this lady, Is for some reason I dont actually think she realises that she is a nail biter iykwim,
And I dont think she realises how lovely her nails can look,

Also I think money is an issue,
I dont know how to get accross that less isnt always more,
That little bit more money and I know what I could have done for her.

GGGGRRRRR lol I dont want to let this one escape, because I know I can work with her to improve her nails by far,
But she has to work back with me...cant do it on my own haha,

She is a hairdresser too btw

I must admit Emms, I would not have made any guarantees to this client, and would have booked her in for a weekly maintenance appointments.

I think you have done the best job you could have, with a reluctant client. Who I think is making her decisions with her purse!

Since you at the moment only have 1 repair....could you try and talk her in to letting you do a tip and overlay on it, to let her see the difference and how tips, when properly applied by a professional tech, are nothing to worry about. HTH

Well, she's obviuosly impressed with your work which she has seen on her friend who reccommended you....so, I'd play it this way....

Ask her what she wants her nails to look like (which I'm sure you've gone through this anyway, but repetition can't help).
Tell her you can make a beautiful job and she be proud to wear them if she follows your recommendations.
Her job requires nails that are strong & durable, this won't be the case if you can't structure the nails with a correct apex etc So she will continue to have breakages, which will cost her more money in the long run and that she will not be as happy as she could be if she were to invest that little extra and let you do what you do best!!

Afterall, all you want her to be is delighted...

I would never normally do this hun, But i KNEW she was going to lose one or more, and I wanted to make sure she came back, silly I know, but I'm hoping this will have reinforced her confidence in me,
I dont feel she has much confidence with techs,

Yeah thats what I'm thinking, she can see for herself then, and I'm hoping she will agree to the one, nail, also with it being her thumb nail, it wont look as obvious that it is slightly different to the others,
I also think it will LOOK better as it will give her nail bed a little bit of extention too
 thankyou girls xxx
