well i could really do with some advice I had a client ring me to night and said she had broken a nail and she was going out tonight could I fix it, I was happy to fix it so she come to my house and I re placed the broken nail when I had fnishd she gave me £10 I was like do you have anything smaller as I didn't have much change on me I told her it was just £2.50 for a re placement nail but she insisted on me keeping the money the whole £10 . I just wondered would you take the money off her next nail service or just except it with a smile?

What a nice lady - I'd accept with a smile. It was short notice, presumably out of your hours and she was grateful.

You could always add a little nail art or similar gesture to her next service to show your appreciation.

What a lovely client. She was obviously happy that you fitted her in and repaired her nail .I would just accept it with a smile.:)

i agree you could offer her something like nail art or a few rhinestones or even a nice hand treatment next time as a thank you gesture.

Maybe give her a free aftercare item, cuticle oil,top coat ,what ever you retail!

Thanks all there is some really good ideas there .

Your client appreciated you being able to fit her in and replace the nail at short notice, and then go out will all her nails looking wonderful.... be proud you have a generous client. x

I wish my client last week was so generous!

She's new to me, but she's been having l&p done for years. She's unhappy with her usual tech so she's giving me a try. I did her rebalance, and the next day she rang to say she had chipped one. It was only a tiny chip but as she's going on holiday she wanted it fixed.

I agreed to see her that day, and in my mind I had already decided before she arrived that I would do this repair for free, not something I usually do, but being that this lady will potentially be a long term client if I look after her, that's what I decided.

Anyway, it was a tiny crack, took literally 2 minutes to repair, and when I finished she just picked her bag up and left the shop hastily, saying she had a bus to catch, not even a mention of "how much do I owe you".
Well, I left it, but if she rings for repairs in future I will mention the price of the repair on the phone.

If you have such a lovely client who is willing to pay you like this, accept it with a smile, but I would remember this in future and maybe do a little bit of something like some nail art, or something similar.

Well to cut a long story short I got , wait for it, £100 for a spray tan the other week, i'd fitted this lady in at the last minute after she had had a disaster tan a couple of days beforehand and she gave me £100, that was a very good day.

Give her a hand/foot cream sample and "run Forrest run"

One of my best clients bought me a REAL Coach purse! (good sized, too) I don't know a thing about handbags but all the girls at the shop say I don't deserve it. She has been a wonderful client and she just wanted to say Thanks.
