Hi all,

I am due to finish my Level 2 in June, and am trying to decide what to do?
I was wondering what your views are on opening a salon at home in my conservatory or am I better of renting a room, or working in a spa to gain some experience?

I would really appreciate your advice.

Thank you :D

Work in a salon/spa and get some experience.

Not only will you be employed in a pressured environment, you'll hone the skills that you've learned under an experienced eye, you'll make friends and contacts in the industry and you'll also gain valuable experience on how a beauty business is run.

Couldn't agree more! If I had done it straight after leaving college I wouldn't have done as well as I am now. I've gained enough experience and improved my skills. Now I offer as service you'd expect from a salon but from my home.

Hi thank you, have you made a room at home a beauty room, as that is what I would like to do? I will apply for jobs, and see how it goes.

Thank you

I agree with the others - get some experience in a good salon as this will help you hone your skills (both in terms of treatments & how businesses are run) & become more commercial.
