Hi
I have just removed the nails I did on my model for my Foundation course and I know I'm meant to perform a mini manicure, apply solar oil and nail strenthener too. But can someone just clarify exactly what should be done and in what order please?

Should I remove cuticle ?

Also, which should be applied first - Toughen Up or solar oil? I got to thinking about it, trying to be logical:rolleyes: but ended up thinking that each would end up making a barrier for the other. So I just confused myself in the end!

I filed to reduce length, applied solar oil, buffed and then applied Toughen Up.

Thanks:hug:

After I've done a removal, I do these steps:

1. Cuticle work
2. Oil buff
3. Remove oil from nails with scrubfresh
4. Apply Toughen Up

Hope that helps.

Ju x

I would do
cuticle work using cuticle eraser (not cuticle remover)
add a drop of Solar Oil and buff,
then Scrubfresh,
then toughen up (edited to add) then top coat
then Solar Oil again (Solar Oil can penetrate enamel btw)

I agree with what you are doing, but I take it you are applying an enamel or a topcoat after the Toughen Up...as it is a basecoat like Stickey basecoat it's surface remains stickey to hold the enamel on.
It shouldn't really be used on it's own.HTH

I learnt that lesson once! I honestly didn't realise that Stickey would stay sticky

Um, no, I didn't know that. :o
So I've sent her off with sticky nails have I?

After a removal I tend to do a full manicure and charge only for the manicure - I know I am probably undercharging, but I feel it is more important for them to come back for a professional removal rather than be put off by the price.

I did one on a (nail biter) client last night - she had a set of nails put on 6 weeks ago for her wedding and came for a couple of rebalances - when I removed her nails she couldnt believe how strong they were and also couldnt believe she actually had some length to her OWN nails LOL.
