:confused:hi, I have been finding that after 2nd or 3rd infill i am getting pocket lifting near the free edge were as the infill acrylic is fine, i am thinking it must be the acrylic ageing?? does anybody else get this? i use NSI and was wondering if it was time to switch to creative

Why not get a Try Me Kit from CND and test it out?

The best thing about CND is the lasting ability of the products .... They just do not age like other products .... one reason why clients and technicians are so loyal to the brand.

At the end of the day, if your clients love you for using CND, they are going to stay loyal which is what we all want isn't it? That is what builds a business. It isn't just a coincidence that so many of the really successful technicians use Creative.

I was using CND but I live in southern Alberta where the tempature can go from + 10 to -30 overnight and I started have alot of lifting issues. I went back 2 NSI and haven't had a problem since! I like both NSI and CND but I found CND couldn't handle the tempature changing here!!!!

I just switched from NSI to CND and I prefer it and so do my clients. My lifting issues have disappeared and I have been struggling for a year.

Definatly get the Try Me Kit! It will take a little getting used but its much better IMO.

You say you have been getting pocket lifting? This is usually working to wet with the product x

dont think its my ratio as i only happens after about six weeks after i have applied nails

Pocket lifting can also be caused by having to much monomer on your brush when you tuck your smile line try wiping before you tuck Hths:hug:

I am almost sure there has been a thread on here sometime ago about this...it can also be caused by a trauma if the client has banged the nail!!

Are you leaving 6 weeks between appointments? X

no, this happens after about two infills (two weeks between infills) also happens on my nails

thanks but also happens to me and i know i havent banged any nail and it also happens on most nails

is on all nails or always the same nails?

You can also get pocket lifting when you haven't removed all lifting during the rebalance, as the nail grows out and you rebalance again the tiny bit of lift will change into a pocket lift in the centre of the nail, this is helped along by the filing and the pocket lift will 'grow' (for want of a better word lol). I have one on my right index nail at the moment and I know it's because I've missed an 'invisible' bit of lifting during a previous rebalance, it'll be sorted out and removed tomorrow when I r/b them.

hth's a bit

Are you noticing that it is happening to all your clients? Is it several fingers or just one or two fingers?

Center pocket lifting is usually caused from too wet of a mix ratio. Try going a bit drier and see if that doesn't help.

When using NSI, you won't need to worry about yellowing or the acrylic becoming brittle, you will also get great adhesion in any climate setting.

Get a CND Try Me Kit ... try it for 3 months on yourself and be prepared to be blown away by the results.

thanks for all you answers i will get a creative try me kit and see if its the acrylic or my application,

I'm going to be exploring CND Brisa as well as I have allergies to certain gels, and those allergies are unbearable as I cannot even smell some of the gels anymore without a reaction.

I believe it's the acrylates. I also use Bio Sculpture which I am not allergic to, however some clients need a harder wearing system and I don't want to go back to L&P because of having a home based business. The Creative Brisa system doesn't have acrylates, formaldehyde or gluderaldehyde and based on everything I've read here, wears really well (Geeg says it's just as good as L&P for strength,) so I'm excited to try it.

They all have acrylates, hun - its just a matter of what kind. Brisa has a methacrylate mixture (as noted on their MSDS sheet). I also have an allergy to gel products and used to use big yellow dishwashing gloves in order to work with gels. I started using "gloves in a bottle" and no longer have an issue - it works so well for me. Its a barrier cream that protects my skin from the product.

Also, if you prefer working with l&p - you can certainly try the NOP odorless system from INM. It sets up a little differenly than traditional - as it has an inhibition layer that must be filed off. I have been working with it more lately and I actually like it (hated it previously because I was so used to traditional and don't like change). There is less dust because the inhibition layer files off in large pieces and I am able to get my enhancements thinner around the eponychium and sidewalls with less effort because of the inhibition layer being filed off. Odorless systems have a bad rep for yellowing, but I have yet to see NOP yellow.

You have many options - I met a CND embassador from Ontarion (cannot remember her name, sorry) and she was wonderful!

Good luck and I hope you find a product that works for you
