Hello,
I thought I would reach out to you.
I’ve become Licensed Nail Technician in july, doing gels nails, acrylic no chips etc.
I have a problem with gel nails with some clients. Some nails been lifting from cuticle?
I do prep nails the same for all the services and I know how this is very important.
I am little devastated knowing that some clients have lifts from the cuticles. Any ideas why?
I work on Akzentz gels.
Thank you so much.

Lifting from the cuticle is usually two things:

Within a day or two of application = prep. Some clients need more work than others, prep once, prep again on persistent lifters to be sure.
Lifting after 10 days or = unbalanced structure - the nail lifts at the cuticle as it 'see saws' due to the pressure applied at the tip. This could be because it wasn't created correctly initially or due to growth, its grown fast so the stress area in now in the wrong place, or sometimes ski nails cause cuticle lifting as the way they grow puts uneven pressure on the structure.
