I have a client who came to me about 18 months ago, she is aged 60 and had the most unbelievably work worn neglected hands. She was so ashamed of her hands and nails and they certainly presented an enormous challenge.

She wanted nice nails, not overlong but slightly over the end of her fingers. We tried both L&P and Brisa, both of which she literally smashed within days.

We abandoned enhancements and I persuaded her to switch to regular manicures and have slowly turned them into presentable hands. Because of her lifestyle, shifting logs, carting wallpaper rolls around, gardening, and clearing the grate polish lasts a maximum of 2 days and her nails have now started splitting and peeling. She does wear gloves but goes at all jobs like a bull in a china shop.

2 weeks ago I tried her with Akzentz Options and she returned for maintenance this morning. I was almost frightened to look but she had a chip on the corner of a thumbnail and had scuffed the topcoat on a couple. Apart from this she had no other problems.

She is thrilled and so am I, believe me there is no greater test on a product than this lady:lol:

Thats great... they are good.

What did you use ? Was it colour or french and clear?

Thats great Adele - it just goes to show that you can suit most clients need by using different products. The trick is finding the right one for that client.

I have a couple of clients Adele, who are very heavy handed, at the moment, 2 are on weekly manicures and 1 is on weekly application of L&P. With the last one I had no luck at all with Brisa, the L&P is much better, but as you say it is literally smashed.

The other 2 then as I said are having weekly manicures which is fine, their enamel lasts around 4-6 days with them.

I will give Akzentz a shot and see how it works for these clients!!

Im glad you have found something that does do the trick, its so frustrating sometimes isnt it!

I loved that colour but didnt have much luck with the colours? Did the colour come in the old plastic pot or the new silver pot?

Great news....I bet you where both delighted. x

WOW she is 60 and does all that? Tell the woman to rest lol...

Good for you Adele....bet you were thrilled as was she....

This is why I am wondering if sticking to one brand or method is the best thing....what if I come across this scenario??? ( sorry thinking aloud :D )

It is a plastic pot 1 coat of base 'n gloss, 2 coats of colour, 1 coat of base and gloss all cured for 2 mins each in my Brisa lamp

Thrilled, many thanks to you, Amber and Karen at Nails and Beauty

I am normally strictly Creative and would have used a soak off gel if they did one to be honest. I did look at Calgel and Biosculpture but I was not prepared to make the huge investment required for a couple of clients like this without knowing the results. Both companies were unhelpful about samples but Karen told me exactly what I needed to try out Akzentz options and now I will be extending my colour range.

LOVED that mulberry colour - in fact LOVED most of the colours - again i had issues with the coverage ( i needed 3 coats instead of the bio 2)

Such a shame because where as i used to do 80% french and 20% colour i now do 80% colour and 20% french ! the akzentz coloured gels are so economical compared to bio too!

Would love to try it again if it has changed formula !

Chuffed you managed to sort your client out mate:hug:

And pleased i could help in some way:green::hug::hug::hug::hug:
