Ok, if anyone knows of a spray tan solution that delivers on all these points please let me know and put me out of my misery! lol

1) Lovely, natural looking light tan (8%)
2) Nice medium tan (10%) but that looks more brown in colour
3) Deep, dark brown colour for those who want it to really notice and look like they have been to Jamaica for a couple of weeks - but one that I dont have to worry about turning people orange! lol and can be used confidently on medium skin tones as well as olivey skins...(12+)

4) Lasts for a week or more
5) Fades lovely, no patchiness or other uglies
6) Carries a nice, reasonably priced retail range.. moisturiser, exfoliator etc
7) good customer service with speedy delivery!
8) reasonable price band and not a huge delivery cost

Am I looking for the impossible here?? It feels like it! lol

Sienna ticks most of the boxes, just cant find a tan dark enough and not impressed that everything is out of stock at the moment... think some of my clients would like a browner more than golden looking tan, i'd say the 12 is more like they would want from a medium...:)

Tried loads lately and just cant find THE ONE

heeeeeeeeellllpppppppppppp............

I think its more the clients that are so different than the solutions. What will be orangey on one will be more brown on another, what will wear well on one wont on another and so on.I guess a lot depends on the acidity of the skin.
Im sure all the tan makers out there are working day and night to produce perfection, the £100 pound a litre solution

Maybe stocking a few different solutions is the way around it.Ive got all sorts.

I think you are probably right! I just want to be able to tick all the boxes and I can't :irked:

They have a 16% coming soon hun why don't you wait to try that?
I think any tan that dark wont fade evenly though. In my opinion and it always looks worse as the contrast is so different from the skin colour.
I know you are pretty p'd at Sienna for their stupid idea of stopping the stock to change the packaging but to be fair it's the only problem I have ever known of them to have.
You could ring around for a few samples. I have tried all of the ones I know of but they none have beaten Sienna for me.

Hi Sherrie, what tans have you tried?

I think i've replied to your threads before about this. I use Su-do which 8% is a lovely golden colour. My husband is a postman and enjoys fishing in his spare time so he spends alot of his time out doors. During the summer when he's tanned i am the same golden brown as him.

Su-do also sprayed the stars of Dancing on Ice and has also featured on this morning. if you havn.t already done so i would ask them for a sample of there different solutions

I know they have a 16% coming, but I have been waiting since Feb and it's still not available, keep getting asked if I have it yet as I have clients ready to try it... some of them I dont think it would suit, others I think it would be perfect for as they are really dark skinned naturally, I just dont know if the 12% is dark enough for these skin types...

I have tried Tantrick Max, Urban Tan sunset, Suntana, Naturasun, waiting for my Disco and probably others I cant remember!

I love sienna colours for the 8 and 10 its just the darker one i'm struggling with, love the retail range too when I can get it, and now they say the 12 is out of stock... hope this isn't a sign of things to come....

I dont really want to stock 3 different solutions to suit everyone, it would cost me a fortune in delivery for a start... maybe the one isn't out there? lol i'm driving myself round the twist!

I use nouvatan which is celebrity secrets rebranded and that is a lovely natural colour which most of my clients love. I then have fake bake for the younger clients that like that brown look.
Have tried the la tan 'disco' today and wow that is dark but it's a lovely colour and i will definitely be getting that for the clients that want to go really dark. I will be changing my fake bake to la tan once i'm satisfied with fade etc....
I think most people have to stock 2 different brands to satisfy all their customers i'm afraid.

I think you are probably right! I just want to be able to tick all the boxes and I can't :irked:

B&Q own brand antique oak at £19.95 per litre and free delivery ticks all the dark brown boxes for me

Seriously though I do have to agree with Gillian on this...the solution(forgive the pun) could be in stocking an assortment of the best(in your opinion) of a bad bunch.

PS B&Q Canadian Pine looks great on fair skin

Thanks for that, I have used Tantrick in the past, just tried a couple of the samples, AG made my model look like her liver had packed up (sorry but it did make her look very jaundiced) and I have the Tandare 10% on my legs at the moment, havent tried the 14% as i'm only medium skin toned and I dont think I could take it  I also like a little more guide colour than the AG has..

Its a shame because the customer service is fantastic, the price is good, last and fade well ....the solutions just dont do it for me..

Basically its the really dark one that is falling short for me at the moment, everything else seems to be good with Sienna...... I have the 12% on my top half and i'd say on me i'd be happy with that as a medium but if i'd had it done and wanted it to really notice as a client i'd probably be a little disappointed that it wasnt darker... maybe Collins antique oak idea is 'the one' afterall lol

Anyone actually used Naturasun After Dark solution?

Thanks for the ideas guys, appreciate it

A sign that a company is moving with the times, constantly trying to improve, you won't be disappointed in things to come, I promise! Sienna has become so popular, so quickly for good reason - it's a fantastic product, and as you say ticked all your boxes. I'm sure it will again just shortly - let me know what you need retail-wise, I may be able to help.

I dont really want to stock 3 different solutions to suit everyone, it would cost me a fortune in delivery for a start... maybe the one isn't out there? lol i'm driving myself round the twist!

With regard to the 'darker' tans, I managed to get my hands on a very small sample of the 16% last week - wow! I know it was promised in March, but Sienna have been working like crazy to ensure they have the right product, right packaging, full stock and delivery available. Please be patient a little while longer, you wouldn't want them to lower their standards, they are trying to raise them - always!

I see what you are saying Fiona, I just wish they had told us about the rebranding in advance so that we could stock up if we needed to.. will be interesting to see what they are coming up with, I'd guess they are doing away with the barbie pink image :green: Do you know more??? let me know pleeeasseeee..... lol lol

Only last week I added more retail stuff to my website and added the names 'make it moist' etc to my aftercare page, hope they aren't all changing, took me aaagesss....:irked:

I would be over the moon if the 16 is that good! that would be problem solved! ..... I will try to be patient a little longer.... :D

Ok, few questions... when you say they dont do a 12% but two sprays of 10% gives the darker result, do you mean two sprays a day or two apart or two coats in the first place? I already do two coats initially and two coats a day apart wouldn't be viable for me as a mobile spray tanner really...

Is the exfoiator price the RRP or trade price??

I am going to wait a little longer for Sienna's 16% I think.... as I said, its really the dark one that is giving me the headaches at the moment

thanks for your reply, and thanks to everyone else too  xx

When I read your post it was like you werereferring to the solution I use perfectly.... SUNTANA!!!

They do not do higher than 12%, but have just added booster drops to their list of extras, so that covers the only problem. All other areas that you mentioned about are easily covered by Suntana products, I cannot fault them at all.

If you was to tan them twice over with 10% on the same day i.e one layer then start again on another layer this would reach that darkness

The 2.99 exfoliator is what you would purchase it for and its a good size bottle.

If you want me to send some samples to you them PM its worth a go to try it out

Spraying someone twice is not going to make them darker. It will make the guide colour darker but not the tan developing underneath.
If you spray someone say with 10% and then spray them again with 10% they are only going to get a 10% reaction not a 20% reaction.

If spraying them twice makes a tan darker then think of all the times you overlap on a 'stripe', all those places have been sprayed twice so you would have stripey customers!

Your not wrong there:hug:...although there would probably be a slight darkening but not worth getting all excited about.

Just remember peeps that DHA % being quoted by different solution providers are only a guide line.

A company using pure pharmaceutical grade DHA of say 10% will be as dark if not darker ,than a solution provider that uses cheap Chinese import synthetic DHA and quotes a 12% concentrate:eek:.

There is a natural saturation point remember as well where no matter how much DHa % there is it will peak out at a point below the percentages being mentioned...unless of course its not a top grade DHA when the percentage point of overload will be higher.

I did quite a bit of research, and found SiennaX had what i was looking for. Booked in for a course in June, can't wait:) i had a spray tan with their 8% and am hooked. It faded naturally like a real tan, and everyone commented on the colour.Fab product, and you should give it a go!
