I'm glad it's the week-end !
I spotted what appears to be a Non Standard Salon at my city centre!
I get so incensed every time I walk by
Question?
The nail techs are wearing masks?
Is this because of the dust? the vapours? or are they using dare i say it MMA!
One girl appeared to be 'grilling' her nails under a spotlamp - not UV !
This isn't standard practice by trained nail techs is it?
Maybe it's the new 'gel' nails?
They don't appear to using branded liquid & powder so my suspicions are raised whether they are using MMA !

Can I do anything about it ? Local council?
Any ideas? Suggestions? Except maybe a brick through the window?
Where are those 'kalms' pills !!

Ok Bug, lets have a look at this ...........
Nail Techs can wear masks for all sorts of reasons, dust is one, vapour mask willl be a bit different.....they have a special layer in them to filter the vapours........
Grilling the nails could be a light cured top coat.............. Like Therma shield....this is used under a normal light source.....like a tablelamp...........

The suspision is raised when they use unmarked containers........
But this is the only true suspicious thing...........
The rest maybe shop practice............
The only thing you can do is..............Ask about their monomer...........
Or have someone go in have a nail done and then check the enhancemet for tell tale signs...........filing smell (cat's pee), soak-ability (or the lack off) and the like.........
Their prices and the time it takes for them to do a full set of enhancements.........now this is not an MMA tell tale sign, but could be a sign for short cutting sanitisation, short cutting prep or lack of proper work ethics......
So no sure answer , but worth keeping an eye on..........
Once you know for sure, then you can approach local councils and question them with regards to MMA being used in their local council area..............
Nice to see that you are on the ball babe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always wear a mask and I certainly do not use MMA!!! I also offer my clients a mask (none has ever taken one). I wear a mask becasue the dust causes me a real problem.

I think it is good that you are on the ball, but go steady. You don't want to go in guns blazing and end up with you looking bad. If it is NSS, you will likely see some of the results as unhappy clients arrive on your doorstep.

Have you thought about asking them for a job (I don't mean for real, just pretend you want one to find out more info)?
