My partner has had these fingers since he was a teen and has been checked for all the health risks associated with clubbing and is fine.
He has also been told he has psoriasis and he’s been told he has eczema too, who knows haha.

The thing with his nails is that they constantly peel and crack, they look and are so sore!

I’ve tried to get him to use various oils but he won’t of course.

I wondered if anyone has a solution? Or some helpful ideas?
Thanks! X

Having a husband with dry cracked hands and nails, the ONLY thing I can get him to use is o keefes working hand cream...because it's not girly!
His hands/nails do improve somewhat, but only if he uses it regularly. Although that product may not be suitable for your partner if he has skin conditions. If you can get him to the docs, hopefully they will be able to advise on the best treatment.

He needs to see a specialist , and maybe you could go with him. I know they aren't keen on a trip to the doctors!!
My hubbie has had this for a very long time , without the clubbing you mention thankfully. I am glad yours has no underlying medical cause.
The treatment options are sometimes a vitamin D cream ( I think is calcipotriol) applied topically....how it works I don't know, sorry.
There is always an underlying tendency to fungal nail infection, so it is important to keep the nails short, and not scrape any of the thickening from under the nails.
Mine also has lifting of the nail plate if he has done a lot of cleaning , washing up and forgot to use gloves That seems to upset the balance and when his nails get wet for far too long.
My hubbie also has used cider vinegar to sterilise his skin as it seems to kill any potential fungal spores and does heal it to some degree.( nails can be immersed for 10 mins and then washed with plain water afterwards.
Light (sunlight ) is excellent too, Generally has a germicidal effect on the lesions and helps to heal them.
I had IPL (intense pulsed light) a few years ago and the technician did say that it was used to treat nail conditions , so perhaps something to look into
I know it is a very embarrassing condition for them, I would hate it but with your gentle persuasion get him to see a dermatologist, it will be worth it.
All the best xx

Thanks so much for your thoughts x

Hi again , I forgot to add the "psoriasis Association" have a web site and forum that may help you out as all up to date treatments are on there.
Good luck x

Just curious, how's his diet? I used to struggle with eczema but sense I've been plant based and really trying to drink lots of water it hasn't bothered me at all.
