Hi All -

Pardon my ignorance, but after reading the thready "Buying PopIts" I'm trying to figure out what they are (sounds like a nail enhancement that's a cross between a fake nail and a gel/acrylic?) and how I can find a distributor that carries them. My google search was unsuccessful. Also, does the distributor or manufacturer offer training on use of them?

The salon I want to open will focus on natural nails but I want to offer a "safe" and ordor free enhancement for those clients who wish to have them.

Thanks in advance for the feedback and patience! :)

well if you use the word "safe" you aren't going to get anywhere sweetie ;)

I know you mean well, but the only enhancements that aren't "safe" are the ones applied by a tech that didn't KNOW any better. No one product is safer than the other, and NO product damages the natural nail. Want to know what causes that damage?

The nail tech using overly aggressive filing techniques, or prying the nails off of the nail plate, or the CLIENT prying nails off, chewing on them, picking at them, etc.

Pop-its are nail FORMS you apply your preferred product into, then apply to a FULLY PREPPED NAILPLATE. once it drys, pull the form off, file the sidewalls and free edge a bit, then you have a finished nail.

It DOES take practice! It's not something you can just pick up and do! You have to have good application techniques to begin with, and then practice after that too!

As for odor, if your application technique is stellar, liquid and powder enhancements are very low odor! I work in a salon that's located in the back of a boutique, and no one EVER smells my products. EVER. I have good ventilation, and stellar technique.

If you look up ys nails on google, there is a list of distributors, 2 of which are in the USA, located in Florida.

Good luck!! :)

Thanks very much for the info AND correction Heather :)
