can someone please tell me what i need to ask for to get my hair an ashy blonde? it always ends up more platinum. when i say dark blonde people ive ended up with dark brown highlights which turn orangey on my hair as im naturally dark blonde/mousey. I really like steph from hollyoaks hair colour. can anyone tell me what colours they are?? thanks so much xxx

im not a hairdresser but my hairdresser friend has always coloured my hair for me (i am naturally blonde but i have it lightened) she puts on an ash toner after colouring the hair which takes all the yellowness away and gives a grey/ash blonde tone!! i think she gets it from sallys but im sure the hairdresser should have this at hand to do for you!! xx

An ash blonde is more a platinum blonde look, a bluey/grey blonde. The best thing to do is not only take a picture/s in with you but go through the colour chart with your hairdresser. What you think is an ash blonde may be different to what your stylist visualize's.
Don't attempt this yourself as home blondes are known to go horribly wrong. Always take the advice of a trained colourist and not what someone else does. Everybodys hair has different underlying tones and what suits one persons hair may not suit yours!
