I wnt to an Asian wedding on sunday and the girls make up was fantastic i would love to be able to do this does any one no of any training thankyou

Are you actively interested in makeup and understand the basics of making up a face? Are you naturally creative and comfortable with the usage of colour (including comprehending the colour wheel)? Becoming a makeup artist requires a lot of hard work, especially in the early stages, so it might be worth your while to assist a professional artist to see if you're really cut out for the job.

If you want to proceed further, you can then enrol at a makeup school of good standard and reputation (most of these are located in London) which will give you good knowledge and practical experience in all types of makeup. After this, you can choose to specialise in ethnic makeup, or whatever you choose!

I havent done any courses for asian make-up yet strangely I have done a fair few asian make-ups (its a great way to do something a bit different for a wedding) and I was amazed that one of the girls said that she had had her make-up done several times by artists etc and no-one had been able to get a blue on her that STAYED blue (her undertones were very dark making every colour look grey).

I love Asian make-up its so beautiful and exotic. I love looking at the Asian bridal magazines, you get some fab ideas.

Yes, I meant to say her undereye and eyelid colour were very dark. Sorry!

Personally I think Asian make-up is somewhat in a way totally different from our "american" way of make-up. I took a few courses of those. Let me look for some of the pictures I've done and scan it.....will post it up in a few days so you can take a look at...

Ooh, yes, please do. I would be interested to look at this!

Tracey, I tried to reply your PM, but it says you're out of space......so I'll reply it here hehehe....... It's a Korean line of make-up that I use on that picture. It's called Forencos.

SORRY, Will clear my in box.

I was looking at a dvd of my Indian friends wedding yesterday and her make up was amazing! and the henna painting on their hands and feet, makes our weddings look soooo boring and dull!:green:

I also like the way an Asian wedding lasts for a few days instead of just one day (it goes over too quick) . Much grander than a traditional British wedding. Fab!

What brand of make up do they use as their coloours are so rich and bright they also use something that they spray on their skin so that the make up doesnt move all day, a friend once reported that she even had difficulty removing it the next day , does any one no of this product.

Think their skin type has alot to do with how well the makeup stays on but it would be interesting to find out.

I wouldn't imagine it has anything to do with their skin type, they do have a tendency to have more of an oily skin, but other than that I would think it was the artists skill in make-up application and probably using a setting spray, even a fine mist of water can help set make-up better.

Obviously good quality make-up plays a huge part too.

hi ya i have a asian friend who does make up for weddings etc.. she is brilliant and i know she uses a lot of mac, nars etc.. she also uses another name and i cant for the life in me think what it is , i will try find out for ya , xx

I did some asian make-up and they were leaving the house at 6am so I had to be there at 3 on a Sunday morning. I knew that if they fell asleep on the way down there make-up application would have been a waste of time so they HAD to have the make-up airbrushed on. Its the only method of make-up that you can wake up with it still in tact.
