Whatever you do...don't underestimate the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo. Perhaps not the biggest player on the beauty event circuit in previous years, this year organisers are going all out to make sure that Australia brings something very special to the table and who have they enlisted to help? None other than nail and beauty industry veteran, Tracey Boyle.

Tracey has taken on the role as 2012 Nail Awards Co-ordinator and her job is simple. Not only has she streamlined the nail programme but she's added edgy, fashion-forward themes and, with her experience, she's responsible for growing and developing Sydney and Australian based competitions so that they hold a pretty damn decent reputation within the global nail industry.

Tracey says that she has designed this year's competition "to give technicians both greater choice and more opportunity to grow." So, if you're interested in getting your entry in you have until the 27th July 2012 to do it. This year, the 'Manifest' Awards are made up of the following categories:

Photographic Nail Art
Photographic Natural Nails
Fantasy Runway
Theme: The Oscars

3D Nail Art
Flat Nail Art
Embedded Nail Art
Theme: London 2012

And of course, the classic categories are there too:

Manicure
Tips & Overlay
Sculpting

Plus, the brand, spanking new category:

Gel Polish

And that's not all. Tracey will also be bringing world-reknowned nail professionals with her to improve the Australian education available including Sam Biddle who will run two days of Nail Artistry Workshops throughout the Expo. Professional Beauty have also got on board as the official media partner of Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo's 'Manifest' Awards.

Wondering what's in it for you? Well, if you enter and find yourself the nail technician with the highest overall points, you'll get your hands on The Robert Bowrey Perpetual Trophy and a $1000 cash prize. Doesn't get much better than that...right?

For more information on registering and entering visit the website at www.internationalbeautyexpo.com.au

Until then...geek on!
