hey guys me again looking for advise as usual!!!!!!!!!
me n my parnter are trying for a baby . But i wa on the contraceptive injection and i no i have to w8 for my body to get back to its pre injection times but is it possiable to still fall pregant. i have been off it for near enough 2 months. its not long i no but im soooo impatiant so please share your wealth of knowledge with me once again thank you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

in fact any advised on the 'babie' topic would be really good for me thanks xx

oh bless you flower - i cant have babies anymore as i had to have a hysterectomy -when i was 27 - but i DONT want babies now at my age - i dont know about these injection things flower, but all i would advise is -BE PATIENT - maybe you and your partner are trying too hard - and that can be a bad thing - you need to learn to relax, and not think of "baby" - "pregnant" etc every time you and your partner are intimate - i imagine this can be hard when you are so wanting a baby - but just take your time flower - it will happen it good time - i think things happen for a reason - and when you do get pregnant - it happened for a reason - that reason being THE RIGHT TIME - for you and your partner - dont rush it hunny

Stop trying, it will take the pressure off you and your partner. Like Peter pan said don't rush it. I stopped trying and now I have five children, 16,9,4,2 and 14 months. So it does work. Best wishes. xxx

to be honest were not really presuring each other coz we do hav a lot on at the moment with work n stuff but work life should relax a bit soon so wel jus have more time to relax with each other etc. which would be nice as we jus dont stop with our jobs n i never thought id let work get the better of me but it has and it shows stress leavels are high

Which injection? Depo Provera? Were you having it every 12 weeks and do you mean that you are two months since you last had an injection, or 2 months since you were last due a top up?

There has been cases of pregnancy within one week of the 12 week deadline for Depo, however it is more usual for the body to take 6-12 months for it to purge itself of the effect.

You will probably find a good detox a great way of shortening the effects...lots of water, fresh fruit and veg, steamed fish, lots of fresh air exercise, no alcohol, no caffeine, def no smoking and if poss regular sauna's. But the body will only normalise in its own time. If your cycle went back to normal immediately, and you suffered no weight gain, thats a good sign.

Basically, I'd relax and enjoy the practise for a few months, and if it happens it happens....if not now, it will in time. I know that if I had a penny for every time someone told me to relax when i was trying to get pregnant, and I just wished them to shut up....I'd be a rich woman by now, but if I'm honest....the one month I lost focus and stopped 'trying'....I fell pregnant.

Amazing that we spend so long trying to avoid getting pregnant and then when we want it.....its not so easy huh? Good luck!

ao this isnt really the right time to be thinkin of having a demandin, screaming, dependant baby on your hands flower:hug:

I would be patient and let nature take its course, as i do know a friend was still waiting over 3 years of coming off the injection, so things can take time.
I'm sure its different for everyone.

Two months is only 2 goes and 1 of those probably wouldnt count as you probably still had the contraceptive hormones in your body.
Its far too soon to worry yet.I agree with Zingara that it is good to think about pre conceptional care diet, drinking etc for you and your partner , folic acid supplements for you may be a good idea but discuss with your gp or practise nurse this will hopefully maximise your chances of everything going smoothly.

peter pan i rambeled on a bit in that post hehehe about stress i probly dont even no the mean of it compared to what some people have to go through what i should of put is we both work long hours i do ten and half hours and my partneer got be out the house by 6.15am but this is all due to change soon by the end of the week hopfully so its more like just fed of up of working long hours rather than stress but like i said i was rambling last night. i do take folic acid actually been so thats good i try and i try with diets well eating healthy but i just cant get into it probly again due to work i dont have the time and just grab something quick which is just junk :irked: but i dont smoke and its rare that i drink i do a bit exercise though
thanks for the replys

I was on Depo for 15 years and was repeatedly told by my doctor that the longer you are on Depo, the longer it will take for you to get pregnant if you ever want to.

It's my understanding that on average it takes about a year for Depo to work out of your system if you've been on it a while, however, it can take longer.

Patience my dear is the key. Now you've made the decision, just go with the flow.

You'll wake up one day and be pregnant. The more pressure you put on yourself and your partner, the less likely you will get pregnant.

why don't you ask your doc or fp, they should know what's what.
fingers crossed thg:hug:

thanks thg i have been n like what everybodys elses said theyv said the same thing lol its just a waiting game i jus wondered if anyone else whos been on the injections howw long it took them

Trudie,

There is a short article in this weeks Take a Break magazine on "how to get pregnant faster".

It gives you some info, but obviously the article is related to a new book that's been released. Might be worth while looking at.

If you are really serious, knowing your cycle helps, and this is expensive but worth it imo.

Although getting pg wasn't easy for me....once I knew my cycle, i knew a lot more about how to make it easier.

That said, you can get totally hung up on this, so after a few months I put it away and stopped trying....but I had at least ironed out any issues by then.

I was on Depo after having Chelsy, but then we decided that we wanted another baby. I stoped going for the injection and after 6 months i was pergnant, but my thinking was if i get pregnant then great if i don't i'll just keep wating.
I think once you start thinking i want a baby "now" you get stressed which will not help.

thank yor for that il get a take a break

Im also trying for a baby, but I have polycystic ovarian syndrome so could be at it for a while lol. Ive done quite a bit of researching and the only thing im doing is finding out when im ovulating (roughly) and having lots of sexytime in that period. Also after you have finished instead of rushing to toilet (or whatever you do lol) lie on your back with your legs in the air and cycle your legs, gives the sperm a helping hand.

I was told at 18yrs old I would never have children, I had my first after trying for 2yrs then I had my second 7yrs later. I was then diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome and the doctor put me on metformin and I now have another 3 children. So there is hope when you have this problem.:)
