Hi everyone. Sorry if this has been asked before but on my phone aol can't search.
I have done the intimate waxing course with Kim lawless and on telling my boyfriend that it was much less painful than when I've used warm wax. He now wants me to hot wax his back as he finds it too painful with warm wax!(typical man lol) trouble is it was 14 years ago i did hot waxing. I know I've done Kims course but was wondering if anyone had any pointers with doing a back! Ie which directions, where to start etc etc. Im only going to do the other half so no point doing a course at this time. Hope someone can help??!! Don't want to put him off waxing for life lol x

Do the back wax with hot wax the same way as you would with strip waxing and apply in the direction and remove against.

I wax the center strip first to give you a hair free area to work from then just apply the wax in strips on the sides until its all removed, then get hiom to sit up so you can access his shoulder neck and bits on the tops of the arms..

It takes a lot longer with hot wax but some clients find it much more gentle on the skin especially if they have sensitive skin.

sorry but is hot wax not applied against the direction and removed against?

Apply against and remove with x

To be honest i always thought it was put on against and removed with?! The opposite to warm wax but when i did the intimate waxing it was put on the same as warm wax. That's why i was confused with The back Xx

I have recently trained and was taught applied against removed against, maybe it depends on the brand of wax?

It depends which wax you use.
With Perron Rigot and Berins hot wax, you apply with the direction of the hair growth and remove against.

Ok thankyou for clearing that up! I use Depileve so its against, against

I've had a request for this from a client. How would you cost it?

This could be quite costly using hot wax however completely agree with being a better treatment

Just as a point of interest, the main differences between waxing a back with strip wax and hot wax are:-

1.The skin will be cool after hot wax whereas it can be hot after strip wax.

2.It's far more time consuming and more expensive to wax the back with hot wax, but if it's your partner, who cares. He owes you:)

3.The back is less likely to break out in spots after hot wax.

Apply the wax in the direction of hair growth down the centre of the back so that you have a bald area to lead the side strips of wax onto.

Apply several wide panels/strips of wax along both sides from top to bottom, leaving a gap in between each one. Lead them onto the central panel which is now hair free. Remove all of them and then apply more to the remaining hair.

Good luck x

Well i got half done and he gave up!! Very low pain threshold bless him. It uses loads of wax thou so think ill stick to warm wax for backs Xx ask

I charge 50% more when clients request this as it takes longer and non strip wax costs a lot more.

Thanks Jack. I was thinking about the same.
