Hey
I have a client who currently a base 5 all over, she is wanting balayage but wants the roots a 3 darker than what she is now. What’s the best way to do this? Do the roots then the bleach to lift for balayage the same time the tint is on? Or do it all separate?

Any info appreciated!
Thank you

Xx

I’m assuming you mean you’re going to do a root drag then give her a few bleach highlights using a balayage technique? It depends on your experience but if you’re not overly confident, then do it in two steps and you’ll have much more control.
I always think it’s better to take your time and do it well than try to rush it and risk doing it badly.

I like to do the roots and then once the roots are on I balayage the Hair using cotton to stop any of the root colour touching the lightener, permanent colours stop processing after its set time so it wouldn’t matter if it’s left on a-bit longerx
