A reflection of a strengthening nail industry, top trade magazine Scratch is launching an awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the best in the business – and they’re encouraging all nail pros to get involved.
Called Scratch Stars, the categories include Nail Artist of the Year, Manicurist of the Year and Nail Salon of the Year (independent and within a salon environment). Plus there are numerous gongs for industry distributors including Best Marketing & Support and Best Customer Support.
According to the Scratch team, led by Alex Fox, an event of this nature is well overdue. “We all know the nail industry has been crying out for its own identity and recognition of its skilled creatives for many years. To all the incredible, powerful, intelligent and fiercely passionate nail professionals – who at last will get the recognition deserved through industry awards I entreat you to get yourself nominated.”
To be in with a chance of winning you must be nominated by family, friends or colleagues - or go to the Scratch website here and nominate someone whom you believe is worthy of winning.
Nominations will open for four months after which the top 10 competitors in each category will be shortlisted. Three individuals will be invited to showcase their portfolio of work in front of a panel of judges and receive a mystery shopper for further assessment.
The awards night will take place on 20 May 2012 at the Café de Paris in London.
