Hi there,

Does anyone know how to get distributon rights in Ireland?

Thanks

I would think you would need to contact the company whose products you want to be a distributor for and check if they already have a distributor in your area, if not negotiate with them for the rights.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes they are interested as they dont have anyone in ireland but they dont know regulations to europe so Im not sure? Also, I know it would be easy enough to get them over but does anything protect me from them selling to someone else also in Ireland and taking over from me?xx

A contract is what would protect you. Without having a contract to look at it is all hypothetical clauses that "will" or "won't" protect you. Give them time to look into their legalities and ask to see a draft copy of the contract :)

Take legal advice from a solicitor who specialises in contract law.
Make sure that whatever insurance you take out covers you for contractual dispute.

Which products would you like to distribute? It may be easier to answer the question xxx

I would suggest that Suzanne doesn't disclose any information about the products or the manufacturer until the deal is done.

Hmmm, yes you are right, I forget sometimes that there are possibly 1000's of people reading this thread!

Good job someone has their head screwed on =]

Thanks everyone for the replies. When it all goes through I will reviel it but I feel I shouldnt tell anyone at the moment, not even staff. Thanks so much for the advice, I will talk to a solicitor.xxx

ooh how exciting. good luck with your deal. i'm very intrigued now. can't wait for the big reveal.:green:
