I've only used fake tan on myself and not sure if the 8% + actually stain.

can't speak for all solutions but St Trooez doesn't stain. I would imagine solutions with a high dha in possibly would?

I have white sheets and I will sleep 1or 2 nights in a row pre/post wash off and then wash them as normal and they do not stain.
However I would always advise to use vanish stain remover for extra protection

I've used loads of different tans, strengths and solutions and never had a problem with staining.
