Nope, not pop-it's lol- I have actually had my hands too full to play with my toys this week.

here is why...

This is the newest member of my family, and her name is Sophie. She is 8 weeks old, and is a purebred Lhasa Apso. She weighs 3.5 lbs, and when full grown will be about 6-8lbs. I LOVE HER. She is totally unfazed by ANYTHING, including my two rough and tumble sons, and likes to chase and nibble on feet (something we are trying to nip in the bud).

Anyone who knows me personally is in shock that I got a dog. I tend to be a commitment phobe, people and dogs included, and have to wait until I am really ready to give 200% to anything I take on lol. It took me 5 years to get this little girl! I have 5 books to read about puppy training/lhasa apso/breeding/why do dogs do that?, etc. ;)

I had to go to Vegas this past weekend to take my Nail Tech exam to re-instate my license after beign in Alaska for so long, and after my test was over, I grabbed my grandma and went to the mall, intending to do some christmas shopping. We always go peek at the puppies in this ultra chic pet store there, and ooh and ahhhh, but I never want to actually TAKE a puppy HOME. Until I saw Sophie pop her little Ewok head up over some wrestling chihauhuas. I was pretty much done then, it was worse after I met her and she licked my nose...

Anyhoo, everyone is adjusting well, my boys are beside themselves, and everwhere I take her I get stopped so that foolks can admire my PRINCESS SOPHIA lol.

OMG I have turned into that pet owner.

Oh Heather she is adorable I can see how she has melted your heart

OMG Heather she is absoloutley beautiful, no wonder you just wanted to take her home. She will be spoiled I think and no wonder. :)

:green: She is sleeping on my feet right now...

congrates 'mom' xxx
she's a sweetie xx

Bless her, I always wanted a small dog but hubby said no :irked:

Instead I have 3 labradors, 2 of which are 6 month old pups and are partial to a bit of wallpaper stripping at the mo

Hi Heather
Congratulations on the new addition, she is absolutely gorgeous! I had a lhaso apso called Tanya for 16 years and she gave us many many happy memories. I wish you all the best with her.

Bless!

:lol:Aww...shes so sweet,i remember this time last year when our pup was like that ,now shes about 25lbs ...good luck with puppy training im just glad we got wooden flooring when i look back..id recommend a crate when your not around in the house,we didnt have one and learnt the hard way..chewed skirting boards, doors etc..get her vaccinated as soon as shes ready, and get her outside socialising in all situations so you have no problems with her later..hope you dont mind me telling you these tips ,but weve got a neighbour with an 18 month dog and they dont take it out because IT GETS TOO SCARED.. the reason why it gets too scared it was hardly ever socialised as a pup..makes me mad..if you need any other puppy advice you can pm me ,sometimes you can read too much info. from books & on the internet and get confused coz they all say different things..good luck with her again shes lovely..

How Cute is she xx

Ahhh Debbie thank you ;)

She has had all of her shots so far, we even had her fecal tested lol- I am VERY ANAL, and tend to read up on everything I can when I take something on ;) She has her own little bed in my car, she goes EVERYWHERE with me already, and is handled LOTS. We have a small kennel that is big enough to grow into with a divider, and are already training her on potty pads. She is QUICK lol, but sometimes she misses the pad, even when it's intended. :) I invested in some serious stain andf odor remover. I am not working right now, which is part of the reason I thought NOW was a good time to commit to a new puppy. The only info I am getting from the internet is the AKC registered official Lhasa Apsi website- the info on there is AMAZING. Like Sophie's breed is a tibetan based breed, and used to be raised in Monasteries with monks! How cool is that?

I totally agree with you and also get mad when people take on dogs and make them neurotic or unsocial. You can't give birth to a HUMAN and leave it in a box all day! ;)

Thanks for all the congrats- it's funny, I get all pleased when people tell me shes cute, like she got it from my side of the family or something LOL!!!!

So sweet hun

Ahhh Debbie thank you ;)

Thats ok,i hope you dont mind me saying try and get her used to being left on her own too, start with an hour and then increase it ,itll pay off later if shes round you all the time now, later when she is left alone she will get seperation anxiety, probly howl the place down.

Congratulations, absolutely adorable, I would have melted too. I'm agreeing with the above comment as we took on an older cat which is scared of the outside world - she's 12 now and still needs a litter tray......(and has now taken to using the bathroom floor, failing eyesight? senility?? who knows!!) Don't mollycuddle too much I think is the message, although that's definately one cuddly dog!!:hug:

She is so beautiful x x x

I agree with Debbie though about getting her used to spending time on her own as there are times when you need to leave her so she needs to get used to being on her own now.

i love these dogs she is such a cutie

I have had Lhasa Apsos for years and years (2). Our old fella died peacefully last March after 15 years. They are the most wonderful dogs.

Fierce, territorial, stubborn but completely adorable and with the cutest little mannerisms.

Do you know why they like to lie on your feet??
They originate from Tibet. the first Lhasa was brought to the west by Sherper Tensing. Lhasa's are known as Tibetan Temple lions. They guarded and lived in the monasteries which are notoriously freezing in the Himalayas. They were trained by the monks to lie on their feet to keep them warm. And that is why they lie on your feet. Ours always do it.
