Hi everyone,

As you can see from my login "new girl" I am just about to enbark into the world of nails. I would really like some advice from all you experts on the best place to go for my training? I have read up on so many products now and it is becoming a minefield to be honest with you. I have read many great reviews about:

Acrygel
Go Gel
Gel &
Acrylic

I really want to get my course/courses booked for early Jan 09 so I can get started asap. As you can understand I do not want to waste lots of money training with an accademy that really does not cut it!

Any information would be very appriciated.

Hi there, you've definatley come to the right place for advice this site is great. I have just started training myself and people gave lots of helpful comments.
I am training at my local college. It is a ten week evening course in acrylics using young nails, which has also great reviews. I chose college as the product based training was impossible being a teacher to get the time off. Have you thought about college yourself? For me its great cos i can have a practise then go back to my tutor with any problems each week.
From reading on here all the CND training is very highly rated and im sure lots of other will have more info for you.
Good luck with it all. Im really enjoying it.

There are some great posts on this site regarding this very subject.
But I will offer a bit of advice...
Wherever you decide to go, and whatever brand; I would suggest learning Acrylic aka "L&P" (Liquid and Powder) first. To my mind, it's the more difficult of the systems and once you master that, the others will come to you a little more easier.

I learned UV Gel first and now regret it, and wish I had learned L&P first.

And remember: it doesn't happen over-night and will be a struggle to learn with all sorts of hiccups in the road. But determination will get you where you want to go, and once you're there, you'll LOVE it!!

You will find the advice you need here just do a search and good luck with whatever you choose

I trained with CND and can highly recommend it.

I trained first in L&P (acrylic) then I did the Spa mani and pedi course and then did a conversion course in Brisa gel.

The training is second to none, there is ongoing training and support. It is worth getting their brochure and catalogue. Call Sweet Squared (UK authorised distributor) on 0845 210 6060 they are very helpful.

Good luck in your search xxxx
