Hey all

I was just wondering what you all think are the best tools for cuticle tidying and removal..... and your favourite removal products while we're on the subject?

I think I need to be even more thorough with my prep, even though I thought I already was - I'd like to be doing the very very best I can and your suggestions for tools and products would be greatly received, digested and promptly acted upon!

Thanks un advance

I use a hoof stick and cuticle nippers xxx

cuticle remover lotion is a real aid to getting a thorough prep done. i like the cnd one or if coming in a very close second the hive one which is usually a little easier to lay your hands on. both are very efficient products.

the cuticle tool i prefer has a pusher at one end and a tiny circular scraper at the other and is really efficient. however it was supplied by a company thats i have recieved woeful service from and i swore id never recomend them to anybody ever.

a metal tool is essential.try to find one that has a nice small and finely milled edge so that its a good 'scraper' to remove the softened cuticle after the lotion has done its work. the combination of an excellent tool and a cuticle remover lotion will work brilliantly. and if you are not sure if you got all the cuticle off the nail, apply a little more lotion and do it again to see if any more comes off. if it does then you just need to be more thorough with your prep.

Sorry - probably should have been a bit clearer on that........ is there any particular tool or product that you swear by like CND cuticle away for instance or a specific cuticle pusher, knife etc?

I use cnd cuticle away, the double ended pushie for pushing back the epyonichium and removing cuticle from the nail plate, and the probe for getting into the sidewalls

Ezflow pro pusher. Both ezflow and calgel which are my systems are dry prep and the pro pusher is brilliant without doing any damage.

Hiya Cuticle remover from cnd, pusher and the probe from cnd haven't had any lifting since using these :)

I second this...the best cuticle remover on the market:)

CNDs cuticle away is a defo for me :green: i also live by my double ended pushie/ chisel and mr precision curette for all those tiny pieces hiding away. All from CND.

I use Cuticle Away from CND and the Precision Probe from S2 for removing the cuticle. The Precision Probe is sharper than a curette and it is brilliant for getting right down and into those side walls and eponychium. I've used one for years and every time anyone see me use it they want one because they can clearly see it is so effective.

Cuticle Away and double ended pushie for me too. I will also soon be purchasing the Probe...so I can get into the sidewalls effectively. Hth xx

Hi geeg! Can you post a pic of a precision probe? I'd like to check it out. Thank you!

No, Cuticle Eraser is not the same as Cuticle Away. It will do the job but takes a little longer.

Apply a little to each nail .. wait a minute or 2 and then do your cuticle removal.

Then wipe excess away really well with Scrub Fresh. It did the job perfectly well for years before Cuticle Away came on the scene. :)

I realy like SpaRitual Cuti-Clean as I find it kind on even broken skin. I use double pusher for manicure to clean the plate and orange stick for pedicure. I know it might sound that it should be one or other or other way around, but I find orange stick better on pedi as it is easier to release sides of free edge of the nail from the nail bed to prevent nail ingrowth.. As for the instruments I only use top of the range solingen - they are the best and price pays off as they last for years and years and years.

Last week I purchased the Precision Probe and Cuticle Eraser and have done 4 sets of feet with them and I LOVE THEM. They work brilliantly. Excellent before Minx application also.
