Best way to clean glue off my extension wand?

Always end up with fluff stuck to the hot wand when cleaning it whats the easiest way of getting all glue off?

I have a heat resistant piece of material and when the irons are hot I just place the heat resistant material between the irons and then drag the material out it gets rid of all the residue left on the irons
