Hi Geeks

can any of you tell me how you clean your warm wax heaters. I have two and I use surgical spirit, spatular when still hot, warm water. and a wax cleaner that I brought. They both are starting to look a bit grubby.
How do you clean yours any tips ?

Hi

I just use the wax equipment cleaner that came with the system, I apply it to the equipment, let it sit for about 3 minutes, then wipe off, comes up like new. one thing that does really irritate me is a dirty wax covered wax pot - so i do mine at the end of every day

Surgical Spirit can (if memory serves) do some bad things to the plastic and make it go very brittle.

I just give mine a little spray with some equipment cleaner and wipe it down - comes up sparkly clean.

Hi, I know there is a lot of equipment cleaners out there - every brand has its own cleaner but to be honest I found the best is to use the Jasmine Oil as its fantastic to use as a prep oil for the skin and also to remove any wax residue on the skin but it works a treat for cleaning the heater whether its strip or non strip wax :O))))

It does indeed make the plastic go brittle. It also removes any markings (like the temperature guage) from the heater.

I just use the proper wax equipment cleaner. As far as I can see it makes no difference which brand of it you use.

Wax Equipment Cleaner for me too. Have tried many brands and they all seem to do the job just fine!

yep , have to agree - nothing better than wax equipment cleaner - the only thing that will take wax off the hard floor too - not that i'd drop much . . .!:)

Thanks for the tip about surgical spirit , I spent a good hour cleaning last night and they look good as new.

Here's what I do.

I've got one of those water sprays that hairdresser's use. I filled it with Perron Rigot solvent. Now there are cheaper ones out there and I've used them, but hand on heart, you use so much that they work out dearer in the long run.

So, put your lids on the heaters and whilst your heaters are on, spray a fine mist over the heaters and wipe with a tissue. It comes off like a dream straight away, no rubbing away for ages. The heaters being on just makes the job easier. xxx

berins 'wax off citrus oil equipment cleaner'

Leaves the salon smelling incredibly GORGE TOO !!

You MUST do it whilst the heater is on as has been said as it makes the job 100 times easier.

been using white spirits for over a yr now and it is fab, it just wipes of. Its not done anything to my heater either.
