Hey could some peeps tell me what white gel they prefer to use. I usually use a paint on white french under the gel but want to find a good white gel that covers without having to be too thick. Ive tried a few but didnt rate them much. One took AGES to dry under lamp and the others arent white enough, I had to apply it quite thickly to hide the nail underneath.

i use nsi brush on white and i love it.i have found that using my dotting tool rather than a brush to apply it much easier.so that it i get even coverage without it being to thick and all with only one application.i will then use my brush to sweep the smile line if needed.hth

I use Akzentz paint on white and love it....it comes in bright (very white) or natural (creamy white) I don't have to apply it thick and it does help to apply and leave for a min to settle...the more you play with POW the more you find you have too. Let it settle and then cure.

just a thought - by 'dry' you mean cure - your not thinking because its 'tacky' its still uncured (or 'wet' as in not dry ) are you? sorry just have to clarify. (i think i've confused myself now :green:!)

I too use akzentz paint on white - its nice and thin in consistancy i never did get on with the sculpting gels !

I've always preferred sculpting white, it stays where I put it! I'm quite happy with my Brisa sculpting white at the moment but apparently paint-on -white is quicker once you learn how to use it.

Brisa POW is the only one I had tried until recently; it's far too runny for me and it made me hate POW's 'til I tried out Magnetic. I found it absolutely fabulous: it's bright white, thin enough to be paintable, fully covering and not runny at all.
I wouldn't trust it staying in place while I do four fingers at the time, though.. Don't like the idea of freeze curing my whites one by one.. Never get my smiles consistent that way.. But it's just a matter of practise I guess..

Yeah but my reply to your question is that I highly recommend Magnetic!

I use NSI and tend to stick to the paint on French. My trainer however always preferred me to use the sculpting gel, as after you've built up the apex over the top, then if you need to do any filing you're less likely to file off the white completely (if that makes sense), as it's been put on thicker. But I find with the scultping one I spend ages playing around with it and it takes me forever to do the full set. And then I've usually put it on far too thick so I have to file it down loads at the end. But sometimes I feel a bit guilty for not using the white gel that my trainer thinks is best, almost like i'm taking the easy option because I can't get the hang of it.......

What do other NSI techs think?

I use EZ Flow's Gel It French It, which is quite thick, but you can apply it thin and get a great smile line with it. I do at least 2 nails at a time before a quick freeze in the lamp.

I suppose it is what you are used to. I used to use Professionails paint on white but found it too thin for me, so it is personal preference.

I always use the NSi brush on white for a nno pink & white and obviously the white sculpt for sculpting.

If you play around with the brush on white you will get the hang of it although do not freeze the fingers for 10secs after each nail or you will end up with a beautifull marble effect with the gel bubbling before your very eyes.

I dunno why that happens but it's weird, always cure it for the 2mins unless you want to keep the marble effect!

I love pronails no 80 - its bright white, thin and is so easy to apply.

I use Brisa gel POW, not had any runnyness problems and no complaints from either me or my clients :D

I mix Brisa white scuplting and POW about 50/50 and it really seems to work out great for me.

Do you mix it in an old Brisa pot?

How do you apply it, with a POW brush or your gel brush?

I might have to try this, I'm all for trying something new :wink2:

Yes, mix it in an old jar that has been cleaned. I save all my old Brisa jars for custom blending especially with the bolds which I think is great fun. I use my brush to apply it; just as you would if it were the sculpting gel but it has a smoother consistency. I got the tip from a CND education ambassador who is also on the research and development team and was on that team when Brisa was being developed. I have never had a problem using it that way.

BTW, I do not use my mix for sculpting. I use the sculpting white just as it is. However when it is really cold I like to warm it a bit just for the workability. I use my mix for rebalances and new applications when I use a tip. Hope that helps.

I also use Brisa Paint on White and have not had any runny problems with it:eek: I think it is a fab paint on white.

Love the idea of the mix! Must try that.

I usually use NSI extreme white, but after calling them today to buy some, i discovered it would cost me nearly £15 for a tiny 7g pot with P&P. :(
