Beware ... Hotmail / Passwords - Hackers !

hey all

just some friendly advice !

have just had my hotmail access returned after 3 days (hotmail seem to only reply once a day !)

someone had "hacked" into my account and changed my password so that i couldn't access - they also did the same with my ebay account

now that i have my access back - all my folders and my contacts are missing - also everything such as headings / options etc are in a foreign language - possibly chinese by the adverts at the top of the page !

as a matter of course i have cancelled all of my bank cards and credit cards and notified various companies !

just forwarning incase you haven't changed your passwords in a while !

This happened to me last week !! My hotmail and ebay account were both hacked into.

Well done for letting everyone aware.

It's a good idea to change your password now if you get a chance.

it already happened to me, luckily i don't use it as a private email, i send all my junk to it. have 2 other account for private stuff.

i have only just set up my hotmail again after i deleted it because there was a virus going round.i also have an ebay account so do you think that i should change my passwords?

I have just been checking all my accounts! It makes you realise just how many things you have set up - from banking to email, shopping sites and forums! Lots of potential for these nasty hackers!

well i dont think it would hurt to change them ! unfortunately it usually takes things like this to happen to prompt us too when we should perhaps do it regularly anyway

also a good idea to mix using letters, numbers and symbols

if i've helped and prevented one more person from being hacked then im very happy
