morning,

next week i am doing a spray tan party at the monent there is about 15 poeple come and maybe more which is great but i am just a bit woried about spray that many people in someones home! the most i have ever done is 5or6 in a house before! will this many leave any mess? i cant afford to buy a exstractor fan with so little notices! i am just really worried! plus i always use towels at the bottom of my cubical is couch roll a better opstion when doing this any people???? :)

I have done 12 people.

I place towels at the bottom of my tent then I tore up a huge pile of couch roll ready to place a new bit down before each client. I also grouped them in terms of coloution. Ie, group A had one solution and group B a differnt solution. Then off we go! It was quite quick really and i did explain i needed to be near a window and preferably on a washable floor surface.

A tip:

When you arrive and after you have set up hold a team brief! Basically gather everyone's attatension and explain what is going to happen, to ensire removal of make up etc and then what to do after. Keep it very short and sweet and you can give them aftercare advise whilst you are spraying them.

thank you i am going to do nails there today so can have a look around and dersised where to put the cubical! thank you xoxo

Hi,
I too would do a team talk.
Use one of the guests as a model to show them the tanning postions you use.
Give them all an aftercare leaflet to read before they have their tan, as by the time you get to the last few, if they are drinking, they may not take on board what you have said.
Hopefully you will be on a washable floor, but to be extra safe, buy some of that plastic table cloth type material to place under your tent, even extend it in front too, then place towels down, in front of and inside your tent.
Hope it goes well for you.
Happy Tanning x x x  x x x

I would use adhesive foot protectors during a party.

Still placing a towel in the tent as it looks nicer.... but ditching the couch roll as I find it can be a pain in the butt, especially whilst spraying the lower leg and when your client needs to turn.

Salon Serve do foot protectors at a good price.

HTH

its not the prettiest of things but i use a plastic covered dust sheet (you can get them places like B&Q) It covers everything and i usually put a towel over it to make it look nicer :)

So far i havent had to wipe it clean but it does give me piece of mind when im in someone elses home. xx

I would actually print a little flyer of aftercare advise so they can keep one each and read later when you go too as they might not all listen. : )

Yeah as has already been said, keep your wits about you and mainly dont panic, keep methodical, and systematical, patch text as you do the team talk if you havent done it previously, hand out consultation cards with xs where they need to fill in, they can be doing that while you start spraying the first person.

I have done 20 a few times, with the hvlp5000 and no extraction.....and it all went swimmingly!!

DOnt forget to take retail you can make a killing!!

Maybe you could also put some of that B&Q weed control fabric down on top of the plastic dust sheet? I have found the plastic dust sheets to be quite flimsy - and also sticky (the plastic tends to stick to your feet) whereas the weed control fabric is woven polypropylene, so thicker and more substantial - and a lot less sticky to walk on! I've used it to protect carpets when doing body painting in the past.

There you go B&Q again...told you they were the best supplier of spray tan stuff on this planet...:green:

Still cant for the life of me understand why they haven't been nominated in the Guild competition :irked::rolleyes:

Yikes your all at it now....B&Q for fence paint, sheeting, masks and a nice bacon butty on the way out in the car park :lol::lol:

Although I did take a gander around home base the other week....think they've latched onto the spray tan sector also and are stocking some rather nice shades that even B&Q are going to find hard to compete with...maybe its going to be a war of the DIY giants soon...

B&Q and home base banner advertising will be next...you mark my words:hug::eek::lol::lol:

Every time i have done a party I have dropped off the pre&post care leaflets to the host about a week before the party, then i have them actually at the party and STILL they dont read them!!
