A couple of things which have been bugging me for a while regards waxing;

In college, our standard bikini waxing was straight forward. Minimal hair removal just to tidy up bikini line which was defined as the area just up to and before the inner thigh. In reallity this is not usually the case though.

Firstly, some standard bikini waxing involves waxing the hair down to inner thigh where the labia sits. Often it is difficult to separate the hairs there because they are bushy and grow in all directions. Even if you trim the hair, the growth is still haphazard so that waxing the inner thigh results in the wax grabbing hairs belonging to the labia. How do you avoid this or how do you fix it?

This is where I feel like I am entering into unchartered territory. Sure, I was a nurse for many years and have shaved that area numerous times, but I am not trained to wax that sensitive part... I am specifically talking about the fleshy labia.

On occasion I have felt desperate enough to take a comb and create a parting :lol:. In reallity when the wax is set, I have taken my scissors and snipped the hairs protruding from the labia into the wax on the inner thigh, so that when I pull the wax off, I am not pulling on the labia.

It is really finickety job though and whilst I don't feel I am being paid for my time, my main concern is that I will hurt my clients.

Surely there has to be a better way of doing this, but certainly nothing that text books explain. Any advice please?

You can put your wax where you want it to go and then with small scissors trim down the line before you pull the wax off.There is absolutely nothing wrong in trimming it creates a nice line.
Underneath is better with them lying on their back and pulling their leg towards their chest

I pull out their knickers at the top on the side and sort of "scrape" the hairs (gently of course) backwards to contain the stragglers, then get the client to place their hand there to hold them back and stretch the skin! :lol: If there are still long hairs where I am going to wax I trim them but usually this gets them out of the way if they have had regular waxing.

Then as Gillian says I do the underside with their leg held to their body.

So are you saying you do actually kind of create a parting using the knickers to hold the hair back?

Gill, do you follow Lori Nestoris method of full leg wax eg. figure of 4 for one leg to wax inner leg whilst top of othe leg and then vice versa?

If they wear knickers they can pull them towards them and then everything is kind of tight.Put your wax on trim down the sides with scissors and then take off.

Exactly! :hug: and yes Tracey I create a "panty parting"

I'm not going to do a tutorial as I like to actually see and feel that you're doing it right.

Trim the hair and push the wax right into the hair so it doesn't float over the top as it will break the hair and really hurt your client.

Lead the end of your wax onto where there is no hair, say on the leg, then that way you'll able to grap the end easily.

Make sure your wax is set before you remove. xxx
