Hi - I don't get a lot of bikini waxing bookings so think most of my problem is confidence although do a lot of other waxing.

I always seem to have a problem getting all the hair between the legs without feeling I'm getting a little personal - find it frustrating as like to know I've left client as I would want left ie. with no hair showing outside pants!!!

I get clients to feel for themselves to see if they're happy with what has been removed/left and they've all said that's fine.

I use the one leg under the other knee position - can any of you suggest other positions to get this hair easier?

Hi chic, i think u are doing just fine hun, u just need to beleive in yourself:):). Apply small amounts of wax at a time, making sure to hold the skin firmly. Have you thought about using a hot wax chic as u will love the results and so will your ladiesxxxxxx

If your client is flexible enough get her to hang one leg off the side of the couch so it is just hanging down, this makes it loads easier,
then swap legs for the other side,
i also give them a piece of tissue and ask them to tuck it into their knicker line,
then the skin and hair that is left exposed i just treat it as if it is her leg and just get on with it,
you are not getting personal hun you are providing a service for the client that the client wants,
it is only skin and hair, no different from any other part of the body hth

Hey i always get my clients to hold their leg up in the air and put it out to the side i find this the easiest way for me anyway!

The main thing with bikini waxing is to not feel embarresed at all because if u seem or look uncomfortable the clinet will feel that way too just be confident and beleive you can do it you will be absolutley fine! xx

thanks guys - you've helped a lot - reckon I might try the leg hanging off the couch thing.

just discovered this site and have to say it's really helping me.

I've really been feeling a bit lonely working by myself and not having anyone to ask advice etc so this is a godsend! Thanks to all that are taking the time to respond xx

get them to chop there leg off and then u can wax away lol, i have wanted to do this sometimes it would make life oh so much easier lol:lol::lol::lol:

Never get your client to check for hairs.......that's what she's paying you for and it looks really unprofessional and as though you lack confidence.

If you don't feel comfortable going too intimate with the waxing, firstly make it very clear on your service menu exactly what they're getting for their money and that you don't do intimate waxing; just bikini's.

Have your client bring her knee up towards her chest (one at a time) and this will expose the area you need to wax.

I would always use non strip wax for this area as it's fast and isn't sticky but if you're using strip wax, rub firmly and remove quickly.

Don't lose heart......we all had to start somewhere. xxx

Kim i thought my idea was the best lol. Malibu and salon geek on a saturday night does not mix xxxx

Ps chic u will be fine i promise, xxxx

I do always ask my clients to check that they are happy with their wax when i have done it and thats any waxing.
I dont do intimate waxing so i understand where Kims coming from because all off, is all off, full stop, with me i say is that enough off. They know when they book i dont do anything other than whats outside a thong.
I do get everyone to check legs and everything themselves though, the same as when i hand them a mirror after an eyelash tint etc.
People just want to have input really, they want to be able to see what you have done.If we all went to the hairdressers and had to walk out without having a look at what we had paid for we probably wouldnt like it.
From my point of view i dont take too much control that noone ever feels that they can't say you've left a patch there or can you just do this bit here.

I do take your point Gill but getting them to check that there hair looks nice isn't the same as Nicky Clarke saying 'Give it the once over in case I've not cut it properly'.:) I know what you mean though but I think that you are being polite rather than doubting that you've done a good job.

You will be fine hun. Its all a matter of perfect practise. As usual, for waxing you need to stretch the skin as much as you can. Take your time, dont fluster or keep looking a the clock when you are doing a treatment.

You got good advice from some of the very experienced ladies on the site already, make good use of it.

Get your client to help you stretch the skin. I will take the clients hand and place it where I want it to be (normally nearer to more intimate area) and I tell them to stretch! Works a treat and it keeps my hands away from where I don't want them to be!!!!

Hi jus wanted to add i always get my clients to double chek they are completely happy after and even offer my hand mirror to check if they have a thong on. All clients tend to use the mirror to double check and there fine with this :):)

Oh god, i HATE clients putting their hands in my way!!!! Its probably my biggest annoyance!!! lol.

he he... this is what I do if I want an extra hand.... sometimes I feel the client likes to help so that it takes their mind off the inevitable

When I first stated waxing I used to get all my clients helping me out a little... but I am finding that I don't need as much assistance as in the early days .... a lot of it with me depends on the client. :)

right then, i shall put their hands on their heads, as thats where i want them lol.

when i first started i hated bikin waxing i was a very shy person, all you have to remember is to strech skin i strech skin on inner thigh and my client will strech skin on other side over pelvic bone area if ya see what i mean i think the worst part is if you have some one new to it and you have to trim the hair first as if it is to long it will cause bleeding and lots more pain, small sections at a time and i thought that we would all have been trained to put tissue in the nicker line i was. you soon get over the embaresment of it after all you are not doing something that they dont want you to do. just keep going and it will be come like second nature to ya.

I'm totally with KateLisa.......I never get my clients to help, not even when I'm doing mens intimate waxing. I have my own way of stretching the skin from both sides and I hate them helping. Sods law that they'll put their hand in the bloody wax. I'd rather them just lay there and chat to me. xxx
