hi
ive had all my training for the gels and have my assessment in the next few weeks... i have been practising but i am finding that the gels lifts quickly on most clients... what am i doing wrong??
i feel like i am not practising enough as im studying at uni at the same time so im worried im not going to pass!! is the assessment hard?? also i havent practised an infill and have completely forgotten the procedure
please help x

I don't use bio so wont be able to help too much but on your lifting problem i can,
lifting problems when new to nails is almost always down to the prep routine,
you need to be really thorough with this part, make sure you have removed all 100% of the non living tissue from the nail plate and then with your nail plate cleanser you need to really give each nail a good scrub with this for about 5 secs each nail, just a quick wipe over is not enough
hth

Hey hun, Im a Bio tech and there are other geeks that also use Bio on here take us through your application and then we can guide you :)

Yep...what Sue said.
Also i think its worth buying the training DVD from them, i did when i was training and sometimes still watch it now to refer back to after nearly 2 years.

Hi
Can you give us some more details? Are you doing french overlays or colour overlays?

  • Dont use too much cleanser, make sure the nails are dry before you apply any gel to the nail.
  • Are you using executive base - this SOMETIMES make the gel lift
  • Are you curing your gel for 2 minutes
  • Are you doing 2 fingers at a time for now?
  • Are you pulling the gel over the free edge? Gel shrinks!
  • Have you given your clients after care advice?
Remember overlays are not invincible and you need to give your clients good after care advice or they will ruin their overlays!

There is nothing to panic about for the assessment.

However, if you want to pass and also be a good tech you need to find time to practise!
