Hi there,

Just want to ask if anyone has had cracking of the nails when doing a french bio sculpture and this is usually after 1 week of having nails done!!? And if you have any tips on stopping this?

Are you using Bio top coat? Sometimes, cracking or "crazy paving" on the surface of the nails can appear when using other top coats.

Also, make sure that once you have wiped the inhibition layer with sanitiser, you allow the nails to dry completely before applying the top coat.

Yes am using bio top coat:rolleyes:

Do you get them to remove the Bio top coat and then re-apply another coat as quite often it is the top coat that cracks not the gel.

Hi, yes have tried to remove the topcoat but still doesnt seem to take all the cracking off!

Are you using a Bio Sculpture lamp for curing?

Hi Lindsay, Yes I am using the bio lamp for curing. And Ive only had lamp since sept.

OK, can you describe the cracking? Is it all over the nail or across the stress point, at the sidewalls......where?

Hello

I am having a few problems, I have recently been on the Bio course. I am having problems like, all the gel cracking off leaving the nail bare. Not on all nails only a few. I have tried everything, simply don't understand what is wrong!

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Hannah, Mine dont crack off but the top coat keeps cracking.
The best thing is to make sure the nail is prepared properly before gel application. Do you apply the gel to close to cuticle? And what about exec base, do you only apply a very small amount in middle of nail and not towards the free edge?
Nikki :)

Hi, the cracking appears all over the white application of the french. Its very odd and frustrating!!

It is odd, as Bio is normally quite e flexible gel, and doesn't crack. I can only assume you are using S-gel as your main builder layer...does the same happen with colour overlays?

Couple of points to check. Make sure your sidewalls are nice and thin....too thick an application here would mean the nail would lose flexibility, and make sure there is no soft tissue contact.

Also, have you built a good apex? If its too thin here, it could flex too much and stress fractures appear?

I presume you are using all Bio prep and are happy with it?
