Hello again, As an add on to my previous thread about advertising cards, I was just wondering what you think i should do about the after care for the clients nails. I have not yet purchased the varnishes to match the gel colours ( i only have about 8 coloured gel so far) as in the after care it is advised to use the nail polish to match the gel in order for them to look nice between infills. As I have not yet done any nails that I am charging for yet and dont own any varnishes, just wondered if you would recommend me buying some varnishes to start with or just offer the client a buff and polish? How many coloured varnishes do you buy of the same colour, is it worth buying say 2 for every gel colour when just starting. Obviously in the future I will purchase more but want to see how many clients I get before I go ahead and fork out loads of money if I dont get anyone booked? Sorry for the long thread. hope it makes sense :irked:

I personally wouldn't stock loads to start with. I do retail Bio polishes but they don't tend to sell for use between infills.....clients come back when their nails are looking like they need attention, but they do occasionally sell for clients who like to match toes, etc. or a lot of the time they buy another colour to match an outfit, so they can have a change over the colour they are wearing!

I do have the Bio varnish stand and keep that with a few top coats and probably one each of the popular shades, with maybe 2 of the top 3 or 4....for me that is probably no 10, 60, 61 and 76, at the moment...but will be different in summer. That said I order from Bio reasonably regularly now, so for me its easy to replenish. In my early days I didn't find I retailed as much...possibly as I didn't really have a dedicated salon.

Alwaya keep top coats in...they definitely will sell.

Thanks Lyndsay.

I have just ordered me some advertising cards so Ill see how well those do and order some more top coats. Thanks.
