BioActivity Scoring

Hi

does anyone know how the BioActivity scoring in Dermalogica exfoliants is worked out and what it means exactly? I've gathered that it's how strong the product is and have tried to contact Dermalogica with no reply to my e-mail and keep getting voicemail when I phone!!

Hi!

The Bio Activity Score goes by the strength of the exfoliators and its based on a) concentration of Lactic acid b) concentration of Salicylic acid c) the pH of the formula and d)the presence of other exfoliating agents eg. papain, rice bran etc

Each of the exfoliators have a bio activity score starting with 1 for skin prep scrub and going upto 35 with exfoliant accelerator 35.

When mixing two exfoliators together, you add the bio activity scores together then divide by two to get the bio activity score for the mixture.
