Hi All, heres hoping some of you may have some suggestions for me.
I have a client (friend of a friend) who is a Health Care Assistant. Last Tuesday i did a NNO for her using Bio, French. She text'd me today to say that she has some nails lifting and that "water is getting under them". I explained that over exposure to water, amongst other things can cause this and that she should be careful and wear gloves, and of course i will re-do any as necessary. She says she does wear gloves but still has to wash her hands after, and then theres all the sterilizing hand gels they have to use. I also gave her some cuticle oil and advised her to use this daily.
I am seeing her on Wednesday this week and am thinking a soak off and start again. Would using a layer of silk after the first layer of gel be helpful as I was told that silk enhancements are advised for hairdressers or those who's hands have alot of water exposure ?. Having said this i realise that proper silk enhancements use resin, activators etc and are completely different to the use of silk with what Bio recommend.
As i am fairly new to all this i realise some of you will probably want to correct me in some of the things i have said.
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks:|

Hiya .. when I used Bio I found that that hand sanitiser they use in hospitals did cause lifting....as did wearing gloves too much.

To be honest with her job I would be inclined to go for a Non Soak off gel.

Thanks Bagpuss I'll put that to her. She wants me to do them but I'm not trained in anything else yet, but then I don't want her to keep wasting her money if they're never gonna last !

hospital hand sanitisers and their washing gels (cutan, hibisol, hibiscrub) are killers on natural nails and enhancements ..they cause lifting and wreak havoc on the skin...after 11 yrs in the health service as a nurse before career change my hands and nails were screaming out for help these hospital grade products do have moisturising properties to them but i think they do have a high level of alcohol to disinfect the skin which is needed to kill any bacteria on the skin and are used everyday..i do sympathise as they do dry the skin out from over use..the nail tech i go to was brilliant and sorted them out for me before she allowed nail enhancements it took a while as well as using her advise and money well spent on the oils and cream to use at home and still continue to use them . i don't know why hospitals don,t go the extra few pounds more in introducing a better skin cleaning & sanitising range ..i have read on a few threads on the geek site that Mundo products are very good ,kinder and gentler on the skin just a pity that our hospitals don't see it that way.
