Hello Everyone!

Having alot of fun at the new job. And feel like I'm getting a lot of experience doing new things! Would love to know what you think could be improved.

I'm thinking of entering my first competition this year, in the salon nails category! Am I crazy??

More pics in my gallery, but thought this was the best one to show the whole shape.

Love the nails. And I love the display of all your powders!

Thank you! Yeah, there's alot of money on that wall! Glad it wasn't mine, but I'm helping her sell it!

Hi, well done......what have you used on the nailbed, is it a custom blend?

Thank you  It's CND warm opaque Powder to extend the nailbed

mmm nice, I like it!

i really like these.
i think the length looks great and the pink to "white" ratio look nice and the deepish smile lines.
the only thing i will say is that looking at other pics the product at the cuticle area doesnt look flush to the nail on one of the thumbs it looks abit bulky and some nails look slightly wide but in some of the pics it loks like that could be more to do with the shape of the clients own natural nails.
nice work

Thank you for the compliments! I see what you mean though. I use gel top coat. Do you think I need to compensate for that by doing a thinner L&P acrylic application?

I also thought about freezing the gel every couple of nails, so it doesn't move, and change the line of light. Do you think this is necessary with a gel top coat?

what gel top coat do you use?
i use nsi glaze n go and i dont freeze cure i apply to all 5 nails and then fully cure.
in my opinion you shouldnt have to apply a thinner layer of product to allow for a gel topcoat i have never had to do this but i do have clients that due to the shape, apex etc.. of there natural nails it can sometimes look as though the product has been applied quite thickly when you look at the finsihed nails even though i have felt that i have compensated and applied the product more thinly and i dont feel i could have done any thinner without comprimising the strength of the nail.

when you filed the product at the side walls did you file them quite thin and really tuck them in and make them curve inwards?
does that make sense?

what gel top coat do you use? OPI, the no-cleanse top coat, I'm applying it to five nails at a time as well. It's interestsing, in the training video, they recommend applying to 4 nails and flash, then do the thumbs, until you're "comfortable" As I've been doing natural nails for 8 years, I already felt comfortable with top coat!

Well, this is definately something I can focus on, can't say I was concentrating on making them curve in on the sides. I do know what you mean though ...this shape?
