I did these on myself at the weekend and at first glance they look ok but overall i am not happy with them.

I love the black and white together and the products used was Young Nails.

Your comments appreciated :)

Thanks for all the wonderful comments guys!!!! I do think we are our own worst critics. :irked:

These are done with tips and so easy to do. Once you have placed the white on you then get your drill to crave a straight line, then get your file and give it a quick going over with that just to make sure the line is clean and crisp and then add your black. I have a client that is going to a wedding in a couple of weeks and she wants your nails done the same way except in white and lavender.

Well, I am going to critique them which is what you have asked for! :)

Your smiles on the whites could be much crisper and sharper both in the sweep of the smile and at the sides. Your zone 2&3 application looks good and nice and beveled towards the cuticle. Be careful not to get the 'parrots beak' syndrome when doing stilletto nails; your middle and pinky are verging on this.

Finally (and this is mho)... I think they would have been even prettier if... you lost the flower on the nagging finger and if you had applied the black tips with a smile mirroring the white as opposed to a straight line.

I love your idea though and think you have created what we should now call the Magpie Nail (or the Penguin Nail)... but I would love you to try my suggestion... asthetically I think it could be gorgeous!!

Thank you so much for that. I have a course of Friday called Flawless French so hopefully that will sort out these problems that I have.

I originally tried the black mirroring the white smile but didnt like it as much and the straight line.
